How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

living room gloomy…dark upholstering didn’t help. bathrooms were not in suite and the largest bathroom was far from the main bedroom. We had a day without hot water which was sorted and alternative accommodation was offered.

As asked to identify issues i will but my wife and four kids had none when asked. Very minor issues such such as few small handman issues around accomodation that could do with completing. Also carpets throughout could do with replacing or cleaning and very least.
Accomodation situated in great location and very comfortable to retire to after long days out and about the family

the room faced the street and it was extremely noisy. It was very hot so we couldn't close the windows. Elelna was very nice by offering us extra fans.
Elena at the front desk was awesome, very helpful, knowledgeable, and very friendly. She helped by pointing out points of interest, attempted to get us free tickets to places. Offered extra fans since it was hot.

The kitchen facilities were excellent, and great to have a dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, full hob and oven, fold-out dining table, and clothes drying rack. We also appreciated the Wedgwood crockery, being able to open the windows and nice toiletries. Sheets were changed midweek and towels every couple of days. Couldn't ask for better service. Ideal location, only a couple of minutes walk from M&S Food Hall and Earls Court Station.

Not an issue for us, but to advise others- studio apartment bathroom toilet area was a bit cramped-could be difficult for some.

Location was perfect, close to the tube and neighborhood wasn’t too crowded. Property was clean and well kept. Friendly staff who went above and beyond. We had hot water problem and when they couldn’t fix it right away, they let us use another unit until it got fixed.

Its a touch on the older side and it is not cheap - but its London so I think its pretty good for what it is.
Very well located apartments. 2 b/r apartments were spacious and comfortable for family of 4. Kitchen had great quality appliances. Staff were super quick to respond to a request to bring a fan to our room.

location was a bit far from most attractions, the half bathroom walls and floor were dirty looked like someone had thrown up and it was not clean. The rest of the apartment was clean, I think that the cleaning crew missed the half bathroom since the dirtiness was behind the door. We also never got a pan to cook, I requested one immediately but we never received it, they only had pots. We couldn't cook breakfast properly or other items.
The apartment was very roomy and comfortable. We left items in the safe and the staff held them for us till we picked them up a week later. Overall the value was good and the apartment was excellent, met all of our expectations.

we had a west-facing top floor apartment which got very very hot in summer weather and which gets traffic noise with open windows…staff left us fans which helped somewhat but still beware of heat of summer travel.

The lift needs to be modernized. Room was noisy as it faced Earls Court Road.
