How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The pillows were too hard.
Great service all round, the staff are incredibly helpful, the room was clean and very comfortable, the afternoon tea was great value for money and the spa was amazing!

More choice with the twin bed rooms
Staff couldn't do enough to help - were exceptional from the bar staff reception cleaners chef.

Super accommodating staff, exceptional professional. Gem of a hotel, rooms, beds, bar, restaurant excellent. One of the very few hotels that has got it right, sincere professional staff.

The room was spacious but too warm, the view could have been better considering the location.
The location was beautiful, peaceful and relaxing, the staff were very attentive and personable.

Amazing place to stay, absolutely beautiful. The lady at the spa reception was knowledgeable, kind, and went out of her way to make the stay perfect so a massive shout out to her. (Short brown hair, slim and about 5ft2 if you could pass on my compliment please!)

We had problem with our key card which meant we went to reception several times during our stay and nothing fixed the issue. The fridge did not work on arrival but was quickly dealt with and a replacement given within an hour of arriving.
Breakfast was superb, not too much, plenty of choice and a very nice breakfast tea. We dined in the restaurant and the food was absolutely lovely and service was amazing, nothing was too much trouble for our severs.

Everything. What a wonderful place. The staff from Elle on reception, to Dan in the bar were absolutely outstanding. They couldn't do enough for us. The room was fantastic, as were the spa facilities. We will 100% be going back again soon.

We asked for a quiet room but were placed at the top of a staircase directly opposite the main access door to the corridoor. The standard I expected for the price was disappointing, chalk all coming out around the bath, bathroom sealant all chipped and run down. Very busy pool and spa area, even during the week.
The staff were above and beyond! We breakfast had a great selection, and was cooked well. Beautiful view.

Unfortunately, they had introduced an uplift on the prices throughout and this seemed to cause confusion with staff. What it said in the menu on price was not what arrived with the bill at the end, we only booked two days, and this was with the breakfast included so we thought, understandable we may have made a mistake when booking, a phone call on the same morning direct to the hotel corrected this and we arrived. Staff did not have any recall on the phone called made but this was correct when appearing at the font desk on the 1 to 1 with staff. When we booked out the charge for the breakfast(s) exceeded what we expected, and we therefore reminded staff of what we agreed when booking in. All was corrected. Like I say it could have been all down to the current uplift in prices and some staff not being aware. We check out happy.
Every part of the stay food wise was perfect, great bar menu and restaurant menu something for everyone

It was all great!
The staff were really professional and friendly. They went above and beyond to ensure we had an enjoyable stay. The room had extra touches such as chocolates and a goody bag for my daughter. The gardens are beautiful and the hotel is clean and well kept. Recommend using the spa. The food in the restaurant was exceptional.
