Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomI was charged £671.54 at reception when the agreed Booking.com rate was £544.32p. The over charge included an additional 5% rooms service charge which I was not made aware of. This is the second occasion I have been charged more that the agreed Booking.com rate at reception. The rates anomaly should be reviewed and addressed.
The overall experience at the Rosewood hotel is amazing, should you just visit for dinner and drinks or stay overnight.

United KingdomCould do with a pool but we were so busy that getting back to the room to chill was perfect. Also - lobby would be a nice place for tea/coffee and drinks but you need to go to the bar or restaurant. Bar doesn’t accept children after 6 but you can use the bar area in the restaurant.
location perfect - 2 mins walk to the underground (Piccadilly Line) so it was an easy to get to/from airports and trains(we flew into Heathrow Terminal 5). We had a family room which was spacious and lovely touches for our 6 year old granddaughter who was with us. There was a lovely little bed, cuddly toy, activity pack, child toiletries, child’s dressing gown and slippers. we had a meal at the Holborn Restaurant and that was first class. We’ve stayed at the Shangri-la at the Shard and the Corinthia previously but this hotel was more child friendly for us.

United KingdomThe hotel oozes charm and sophistication. A brilliant location and walking distance to some attractions. The Holborn Dining Room and Mirrors Room are beautiful restaurants. Whilst the food options are limited, the quality of the food is exceptional and there’s a great range of drinks on offer. All the staff we met during our stay were very friendly and helpful. I have stayed here on numerous occasions and would highly recommend it.

United KingdomA lot of male staff standing around the outside and they were not friendly or welcoming in fact they felt highly intimidating. Staff standing next to the entrance doors but only had the entrance doors opened to us twice in our whole stay. When first arriving we couldn’t find the entrance numerous staff about but not one approached us to ask if we needed help and no one was approachable looking to ask for help. On entering again more large intimidating men just standing in the lobby, no smile or welcoming behaviour. It felt like a prison yard with a lot of guards and made us feel very uncomfortable. Also to be charged an additional ‘service charge’ on our already expensive hotel room was shocking. Surely the servicing of the room is included in the hundreds of pounds already paid for the room. Never had to pay this charge in any other 5 star hotel we have stayed in so a very bizarre addition on the bill.
Sleek, stylish exterior and interior. Lovely designer touches throughout. Beautifully kept. Lovely on call manager introduced herself on check in which was nice. We were also given a room upgrade which was a lovely surprise! Lovely friendly staff in the restaurant Holborns and also the cocktail bar staff were so friendly including the doorman who was chatty and friendly giving us tips for entrance to the cocktail bar that we weren’t informed of on check in.

United StatesMaid did not clean room for two days, after calling housekeeping, a maid did come up and took our tip but only wrapped a cord around a blow drier (not necessary) while failing to empty trash or to do the one thing we wrote her a note about. We really wanted replenishment of coffee and towels - that didn't happen until the third day, when we called housekeeping again and this time, they responded instantly with a fix (although it would have been nice to resolve it earlier and not have housekeeping in the room as as the same time we were trying to relax).
Linens, room size, amenities were all lovely. Room service personnel were amazing. All lobby staff were friendly and welcoming.
