Really, really comfortable bed and pillows, tasty breakfast with good selection available. Friendly staff, good location. Would stay again.

The partition wall cannot be very soundproof as we could hear the next door room clearly. We were in No 2. We also had a strong smell from the kitchen. Tiles in the Bathroom are in need of grouting attention. Overall the hotel looks tired but it didn’t spoil our stay .

It’s in a great location - close to the centre of Ambleside with great views from the very comfortable rooms but also with a lush and beautifully peaceful garden that offers a sense of peace and space even though you’re close to busy roads . And the staff are amazing ! So friendly and helpful . Great cooked breakfasts too

We felt pampered during our stay, we particularly appreciated the wonderful breakfast and friendly staff. Parking on site was a bonus, we had a small room but it was very comfortable. The character and decor of the hotel was a treat and the location worked well for us.

Staff so friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was perfect, not too big and not too small. Perfect set up for a big walk round the lakes and enough to keep you going well past lunch. We had a small room but it was on its own private staircase and lovely and quiet. We would 100% book again. Very impressed with staff speaking to us by name and remembering breakfast preferences!!

The heating could've been a bit higher in the evening and the television a bit more modern.

Everything went very well with good parking and the accommodation. The breakfast was very good and plenty of it. The shower room was very good with everything you'd need.

The Wi-Fi, in public spaces was excellent, but not available in our room. We did not mind using lovely lounge area when we needed to use our devices. (A desk would be a lovely addition to the lounge)

The loving treatment from the folks who took care us! From the moment we arrived, we were treated like valued friends dare I say family. Thanks to all who took care of us! Breakfast, brought to us by Johanna 🥰, was delicious, hot and filling! PS For fellow dog lovers - Our BFFF, Nat, was treated like a Prince and he really loved running up the stairs to our room. The sunroom provided a great space to clean him off, after a ramble, before bringing him into the house. This property is ideally suited for taking morning strolls into town and beyond!

Nice location with friendly staff. Plus I could park my car and not pay parking rates like everywhere you go in the Lake District.

Nothing - it was a perfect stay

The location was fab and the free parking despite it being central was very helpful. The beds were very comfy and cosy with great size rooms. The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming - nothing was too much trouble for them. The breakfast was delicious - best scrambled eggs I've ever eaten! Thank you for a wonderful stay - we will definitely be back :)
