Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Kingdom.
The location was excellent - exactly in the area we required and the view from our room overlooking the mill pond, garden and fields was wonderful. Maggie and Brian were wonderful hosts. They had provided a very generous welcome pack of goodies and lots of info about the area. Well equipped kitchen with everything needed for our stay. Just a small suggestion that access to an iron and ironing board might be good for future guests, we didn’t ask for one but I’m sure Maggie would have provided one if asked. We’ll definitely stay again.

We had a lovely 2 night stay. The property is in a good location, peaceful and tranquil looking out onto their pond/lake. It is like home from home - well equipped, cosy and warm (we stayed at the end of October when temperatures can be unpredictable). Maggie is lovely and thoughtful - the breakfast pack contained everything we needed for breakfast and a bit more, the folder contained lots of information about local places to visit and places to eat - we would thoroughly recommend The Greyhound Inn. We look forward to going back in the future in the summer months when we can enjoy the pond and local walks.

United KingdomThe location needed a vehicle as on a Sunday the buses did not seem to run, and at our age, a long walk was not on our radar
A delightful setting in a picturesque part of the country, although it was a bit far from the city

United KingdomNothing could have improved our stay ( except staying longer!)
Our stay at the Old Mill House was excellent. Maggie and Brian were very welcoming and provided an exceptional stay! The ground floor appartment has superb views of the millpond and the hills beyond. It is a comfortable living space, very well-equipped and has the added advantage of an outdoor patio for enjoying meals and watching wildlife. Maggie provides breakfast items which made it very easy, not having to get supplies ourselves. There are lovely walks around the area and the local pub is a short walk away, across the fields.

United KingdomIt may have been nice to have a foot stool in the lounge as the settee was only a 2 seater.
Sitting having meals looking out over the Mill Pond. Enjoyed watching a heron fishing one morning. Also, there was a decking area to sit outside looking over the Mill Pond with the hill in the distance - would have spent longer outside if the weather had been a bit warmer!! Host and her husband were both very friendly and attentive.

Maggie was exceptionally helpful and couldn't do enough for us. The apartment is exceptionally clean, well maintained and lots of thought to detail. The view over the pond is beautiful and lots of varieties of birds to watch. Very quiet at night and the birds singing in the morning was lovely. It's about 4 miles from Salisbury which has every take away and supermarket and facility you would want. Close to Stone Henge, Salisbury Races and lots if other activities and walks along the river. We will be returning truly fantastic secret hideaway .

The little extras on offer were very welcome on arrival with basics in the fridge and tea and coffee etc. Everything was lovely and we have absolutely no negatives and we would definitely stay again .
