Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIn room 11 there is a constant noise from below. Don’t know if it’s boiler or some system but that disturbed the peace of this place. I could hear the wind, birds and this noise which was the only downside unfortunately.
Everything! The location is amazing! The building, the garden, the decor and features are great! The new hosts are lovely. Appreciate that they had a vegan breakfast menu.

United KingdomTo be really critical the bedrooms could do with a little spruce up such as a new coat of paint but nothing major and it definetly wouldn't put me off staying again/recommending to others.
Breakfast food was lovely and a huge amount of choice I've not seen elsewhere before. The staff were all lovely and welcoming. Beautiful location, comfy bed and would stay here again, highly recommend!

United KingdomThe one thing we felt that could have been better was the standard of workmanship/plumbing in the bathroom.
Absolutely stunning location and the owners were exceptionally welcoming and friendly. Also the bed was very comfortable and the linen top quality. Also loved the honesty bar, conservatory and sitting rooms. My husband was a bit disappointed in the Continental breakfast and the coffee was a little weak for our taste, but overall the breakfast was excellent, with bags of choice.

United KingdomNothing of any significance.
We received a very warm welcome from our hosts Keith and Jane. Room was very comfortable, we were in room 2 that has superb views of the surrounding mountains. It is a very convenient location for walking and the information in the room was informative and helpful of where to walk and places of interest to visit.

United Kingdomre: breakfast. The owners were accommodating and allowed us to have breakfast at 0715 but we had to negotiate and did feel slightly like a burden. For a hotel that caters for hikers breakfast commencing at 0800 is far too late. Dinner was expensive…£70 for two courses and 1 pudding with no alcohol (alcohol had to be bought from honesty bar) so with a bottle of wine it would be £84. But we appreciated being able to dine on-site. the drive up to the property is very very narrow so if you have a choice drive a small car.
The location was very good for the climbing/hiking we wanted to do around Snowden. The beds were very comfortable with great bedding. It was very convenient to have a restaurant on site which was very good but see price below. The breakfast choice was very extensive but perhaps too extensive in that normal breakfast start time is 0800. setting was lovely. room was very spacious (deluxe twin).

United KingdomThere wasn't anything I didn't like.
The property, gardens and scenery were all beautiful and very relaxing. The owners were very welcoming. The restaurant was open and we really enjoyed our meal, it was one of the best steak and mushroom pies that I've ever had with plenty of fresh vegetables.

United KingdomAwesome place to stay, despite the bum clenching drive up the single track mountain to get to the house. (We are ladies of many advanced years) The welcome from Keith was fabulous. We stayed Tuesday night, hoping to have dinner... but no meals served Tues or Weds. Keith was more than obliging and made us Cheese on Toast. Love the honesty bar, and Bruno the adorable hound was more than happy to have us stay. Sygun Fawr is an awesome place steeped in history and set amongst breathtaking views.

United KingdomOur room was quite small and needed a bit of love in places to freshen it up a bit, such as minor cosmetic repairs to skirting boards and such. Some personal touches in the room itself might have enhanced it. Nothing significant that would stop us from staying again but felt might've have justified the cost of the room. No TV in room but not a problem for us on our short stay...I believe there was a TV room we could have accesses should we have wished. Slightly steep walk back up to the hotel from Bedgellert, which might be challenging if you have mobility issues but no problem at all if you're able bodied.
The location was idyllic, with beautiful and well kept grounds and beautiful surrounding view of the mountains. Easy 15min and scenic walk into Bedgellert in addition to direct access on to the Beautiful Fisherman's Path walk (took us about 3hrs...no scrambling and relatively moderate except for a steep climb up some rocky steps at the start). I believe it was also a short walk to sygun mines too. Jay was really helpful in finding an appropriate walking route for our ability from the doorstep. Breakfast options were plentiful and pre ordered the night before...we had waffles in addition to fruits, yoghurt and Granola. Vegetarian options available. The restaurant was open in the evening , we didn't get chance to try but there were a large group in there when we returned who sermed happy with their experience. The honesty bar was a great touch for drinks and snacks on return home in the evening. We sat in tge conservatory with our drinks watchingvtge wildlife outside at dusk. Buster the dog us beautiful and gentle, he largely does his own thing but will cone for a little scritch on his own time. The Guesthouse itself was stylish and inviting. Our room had a little patio door and seating area, we could just peep over the rooftop to the mountain view. Easy parking onsite. The location and the view are worth the stay alone, would stay again.

United KingdomNothing to add in here.
The rooms, the food, the view and most importantly, Jay and Keith were fantastic. Keith saw that I struggled with stairs, so with no hesitation our room was changed to one on the ground floor. Breakfast was selected the night before from a huge choice of both cold and hot dishes. Dinner was chosen in the same manner, and was delicious. The room was lovely, a walk in shower, heating to your own taste, a sofa, a large comfortable bed….in fact there was nothing I would change. The view, well what more could anyone ask for? I could’ve just sat and looked at it all day long. The most important thing to me was that I felt ‘at home’ from the moment we arrived, something that we needed after travelling for some time. Thank you Keith and Jay for making us feel so welcome.
