United KingdomI made a reservation based purely on location as i was travelling for work, unaware of the gem i had stumbled onto. A two rosette restaurant certainly deserving of that accolade, and 5 star accomodation too. High quality service, with locally sourced and homegrown produce on the menu. Interesting and informative conversation with the owner who, after taking over in 2022, has clearly maintained and even enhanced the reputation this establishment has held locally for decades. A brilliant stay and i will definitely return when next in this part of the country.

United KingdomUnfortunately we booked as a last minute and were not aware we would be unable to eat at the restaurant on site; one of the reasons we chose this venue. As soon as I booked I had sent a follow up email, via booking.com and hotels website requesting DINNER that evening, a room with A BATH (for medical reasons) & informing that we would be BRINGING OUR DOG. The owner reports he had made several phone calls and emails, all of which I had not received. He did suggest various local places which we could try instead.
Beautiful 'superior double' room, as booked. Comfortable large 4 poster bed with wet room ensuite. Double glazing, so couldn't hear road noise despite being so close. Appears to be extremely dog friendly, despite not using the restaurant.

I only stayed one night but thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Jake was a fantastic host, very welcoming and informative. My room was spacious, with everything you could need. The bed was very comfortable, I had a good nights sleep!. Lovely bathroom with excellent shower and beautiful towels and toiletries. My evening meal and the service was outstanding!. The best food I have tasted in a long time. Breakfast was equally as good, with a continental selection, plus the full English option. Once again the standard of food was amazing! I wish I could have stayed longer but I’ll definitely return as soon as possible. Highly recommended!

United KingdomAbsolutely nothing. I could not find fault with anything. Even the Ladies toilet near the restaurant impressed me.
Everything! The room was spacious and the bed large and extremely comfortable. Bottles of water as well as the usual tea, coffee and biscuits. We could adjust the temperature in the room to our liking. Plenty of hot water and a roomy shower. We had dinner on the night we stayed which was absolutely delicious. Next day we had a light breakfast, although a full English was available to order, because we were having Sunday lunch. Both breakfast and the roast dinner were amazing. Go to The Auberge for a meal even if you don't stay you will not regret it. I have not seen a single bad review. Now I know why.

A lovely place to stay. Room was huge, four poster bed and huge bath. Also good facilities in the room including coffee machine. Reception, check in and staff were very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Restaurant while a little pricey is superb. The food is all local and is amazing. Wines chosen for you to go with your food. Highly recommend this place.
