Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe room was quite expensive and the extra touches didn’t reflect this - no fridge, very short lead on the hair dryer, no hot chocolate sachets and a small space/room (we had a twin room). There were scuffs on the wall down to the plaster and cobwebs - however the room was very nicely styled and otherwise looked in great condition. Our room had a floor level window which meant we couldn’t open it at night which was a pain and the room wasn’t very big at all. Another big flaw for both of us was that the establishment allowed dogs in the restaurant and whilst there were designated areas for them, this was ignored at breakfast with dogs sitting close to areas serving food . I like dogs but not barking whilst I am trying to relax and eat and definitely not in food service areas. We didn’t complain about this at the time as the pub just seemed super dog friendly but it definitely put a taint on things for us.
Breakfast was plentiful and fresh. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. They were quick to answer any questions and queries and help where they could. Location was great. Seahorses was not as quaint as some villages but it does have a lot to offer, especially for families. There are boat trips from the harbour, amusements, crazy golf, a swimming pool/spa - which is free to use by Inn guests - and it is a great base for walkers. The Inn food was very good but there were a few dishes unavailable as they had run out. The restaurant offered plenty of seating and even gave us vouchers to redeem for a drink in the bar if we decided to cancel housekeeping in our room for the following day. A really lovely seating area can be found just outside the Inn with benches for people to sit and eat fish and chips or just watch the harbour. The benches are well used and it almost feels like a cinema with the harbour being your ‘film’! The Inn is split into 2 sections with one area being light and airy and the other show casing the old side of the inn and being dark and cosy. The outdoor area looks over the harbour with plenty of seats and tables.

United KingdomBeing woken up at 06.00 hrs by deliveries and beer barrels bouncing into the cellar. This continued for a few hours, nothing like an early start to set you up for the day.
Good location.

United KingdomOur room was located in the attic and was very cramped and boiling hot. We had a fan but it was very uncomfortable. Just be aware of this when booking. I thought it was quite expensive for the room we ended up with.
The location was just beautiful. The staff were lovely.

United KingdomBooked a 3 adults room it showed a double bed and single on booking . Com . We got double bed and set of bunk bed. My 31 yr old autistic son slept with his Dad on very comfy bed as they were to tall for bunk bed. I slept on bunk bed that was very low down. The mattress was thin and uncomfortable . I’m guessing room was changed because we had our dog with us & bunk bed was very dusty I wrote my name on it so hopefully it gets cleaned properly.
Great location. Parking not so great . Great out door seating space & lovely clean dinning in doors and plenty spaces

United KingdomNo mini fridge in the room. Decor a bit outdated could do with being redecorated. Need to book early to guarantee your table if eating dinner at night as was packed out every night we were there. Not a massive choice on the dinner menu especially for vegetarian. Not a lot of parking spaces had to use the public car park across the road but if you produce your ticket at reception they will reimburse you
Location was excellent. Had a sea view room with balcony which was worth the extra cost. Good choice of breakfast buffet you could help yourself to cereal, toast and full English cooked breakfast to pastries. Staff very friendly and helpful

United KingdomBreakfast on our 3rd day was very poor. New cook? Short of staff? The main evening menu seemed heavy with chips for most things, could do with possibly less choice but more variety.
The rooms were in good order. Staff helpful. Booking in and out easy.

United KingdomUnfortunately, my elderly Mum in Law was located next to a room where there were two dogs which were barking frequently, and disturbed her sleep. We appreciate that this is a matter that rests with the dog owners and is outside of the hotel's control.
The location of the hotel is fantastic, with an amazing view. Breakfast was good with a great selection of items. We had our evening meals in the hotel, which were also good. We were fortunate to find a parking space in the hotel's car park, which was a bonus as one of our family members has mobility issues so it helped being close to the hotel.
