Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomI'd have preferred the eating area to have been a bit more seperated from the bar - but the team made it feel as feel almost like a restaurant. My husband is a cagar smoker so the outside earea is great!
It was a quirky place as expected but th estaff exceeded our expectations as they were attentive and friendly - whilst being professional.

United KingdomCosy, quirky, friendly place in a pretty little village. Room was gorgeous with the comfiest bed I have ever slept in & a fabulous copper bath to soak away the days achy feet. The little cookies & cakes left out added to the charm. All the staff were friendly & accommodating. We loved it!! After sharing with a friend they have booked to stay this weekend.

CyprusThe main building was noisy in the early evening, but not until late. The bed was soft for our likes, but still we had a good night sleep.
Beautifully decorated spacious rooms, with all the facilities needed for our short-term stay. The pub is lovely with a great atmosphere that's worth experiencing.

United KingdomTruly pet-friendly hotel. Casper was greeted with his own personal letter, outlining some good walks in the local area, along with a gift box with treats, toy and poo bags. They did provide a bed for him, but he's such a large dog we brought our own. Many quirky and interesting features, which apparently reflects the owner's eclectic/ eccentric style. A really lovely place!

United KingdomThey are currently extending the pub so there is building work which did wake us up around 8 and means you don't want to sit on the little balcony.
A really nice part of the world, charming village, lovely old pub. The room was very nice and comfortable and a generous size. The staff were all so friendly and couldn't do enough to help. It seemed like a really nice place to work as they all seemed to get along like a real team. Would definitely return (when they've finished building!)

United KingdomWe had a wonderful stay at The Bell. All the staff (and the locals) were really friendly, the pub is so cosy with a roaring log fire and comfortable seating just what you want after a long walk. The beds were like little clouds, great for a good nights kip. Breakfast was a proper treat, homemade granola was something special followed by the perfect full English fry up. We had a great time and so did our mini schnauzer Nibbs he was spoilt rotten!

United KingdomI booked this wonderful place as a treat for my parents' anniversary. I had stayed before and knew it was special. But my goodness, they truly made my parents' stay simply wonderful. I preordered treats for them, they were looked after by the amazing staff, they loved their room but it wasn't quite right for them because it was a little to close to the bar, so they were moved without issue to another gorgeous room. The food was amazing, the service too. And my parents, who are not easily pleased, have booked to go back. They were blown away. Book a stay here, you won't regret it.

United KingdomThe bed was very soft and unfortunately there was building work taking place so to use the balcony wasn’t ideal with banging and machinery work. We could hear a lot of noise but as we come from London we’re use to noise.
Staff were really helpful and friendly. Bath was gorgeous, room was a great size and clean. Loved the little cakes too.

United KingdomThe restaurant service was a bit patchy... both at dinner and breakfast. The staff are all lovely but they would benefit from having more training - simple things like combining tasks... take a drinks order but clear the plates at the same time... some staff need training for these simple things that others would do instinctively...this would make all the difference. There were a lot of tables with plates that needed clearing as tasks were being done singularly.
Wonderful quirky designs in the rooms. Loved the rolltop bath with tiny bottle of bath salts. Loved the soft sumptious bed with blanket over. THe restaurant food was super.

United KingdomI didnt have a great night's sleep due to the pillows being lumpy and the mattress was a bit hard, it was the only thing that stopped it being 10/10.

United KingdomThe pub is on a fairly busy road, so if you are quite noise sensitive, you might want to ask for a room away from the road.
Lovely and quirky rooms with everything you could need from an armchair to biscuits; friendly staff; great breakfast (both continental and cooked) and pub; warm and cozy open fire; village and countryside walks (both through muddy fields and along country lanes) around.
