How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Being on the ground floor we heard noise from other people in the corridor, but there is not a lot that can be done about that. We had no stairs to climb which was a bonus for us.
Tony and Amanda looked after us very well. The room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast very good.

The floor level big window in the front bedroom would have terrified me had my kids been younger and crawling however I’m sure the hosts put appropriate aged children in the correct rooms. My husband is a vegetarian and his breakfast was the same as mine but with the meat removed. He didn’t care and we did not go hungry but maybe a veggie sausage could have been made available.
The house was immaculate. Tastefully decorated but not trendy. The hosts were friendly, attentive, informative, house proud but not busy. I love poached eggs and theirs were prefect. Full English breakfast was nice and not greasy. Fresh fruit, yogurt and a good selection of cereals too! The house is front row on the seafront and we had a very big front room on the first floor with a gorgeous sea view. New carpets in the room and a comfy spotless bed. The bathroom was also spotless. My daughter had antibiotics for a bad ear and the hosts even put a little fridge in the room for her medicine. Very fairly priced. I was also really struck by how clean Lowestoft is. No dog-ends or litter on the beach.

Liked everything nothing was unlikeable
Amanda n tony were so welcoming and friendly and there was nothing they wouldnt do so clean and accommodating. And amazing cooked breakfast and they were so helpful on the local area we definitely be back again .

Fantastic views from my room of the dawn sun rising out to sea. Individual breakfasts cooked to satisfy the tastes of even the most discerning diner.

Just so friendly and helpful and upgraded our room to enjoy the view of the sea.
So very clean and treated us as family to be in their house. Breakfast was wonderful and anything you want was made available. Good advice on places to see and eat.

The room was spotless. Couldn’t fault it, Was lovely to have the front window near the sea view Two lovely chairs to sit on To sit on to watch the waves bed was unbelievable comfortable Lovely double bed and a single bed. Breakfast was lovely It was definitely worth the money

The only thing that was a bit of problem was the last of the stairs the rail went into the wall so be careful if you have a walking problem but glad we had that room

We loved our stay our room on the 2nd floor was spacious with a double bed and a single, en suit bathroom with shower loo and wash basin, the room at a TV and a small fridge, it also had 2 chairs and a table on a raised part by the window so you can sit and watch the wonderful view, you can see the sea and harbour. Even though the road is below its not noisy and later in the evening very quiet. As for parking there is free on street parking, we were lucky apart from the 1st day to find parking near the house, there is a car park only a few yards away, chargeable 8am-6pm from our room you can see if a space becomes available. Breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice. Just across the road you have the promenade and lovely sandy beach. The Photos I have added are a sunrise taken from the room Amanda and Tony are excellent hosts and very helpful. If I stayed in Lowestoft again I would stay at the Coventry
