Room was getting hot and couldn't see that windows would open. Great meal but delay waiting for main. Confusion over breakfast as manager hadn't arrived by 9am.

Tastefully decorated room, comfortable bed, and lovely bathroom. Great location and the full English breakfast was very good. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

The slamming of an external door around 00:30 as well as the lack of a cooling air flow. I feel aircon in the room would have resolved all comfort concerns. The noise outside on the street is reduced by sound dampening window covers - but then the lack of fresh air is not ideal.

Bit noisy from upstairs and water running for toilet and shower etc. could have done with ‘added extras’ for the cost eg biscuits as we went straight out to show at Blenheim and everything was shut when we came back.

Traffic noise

Staff were very helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Facilities were excellent the only problem was traffic noise but this did not keep us awake

Parking is an issue in Woodstock but obviously the hotel has no control over that

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was really comfortable with well stocked toiletries. Having a small fridge for water and milk was very useful. The evening meals were of a high standard and being a vegetarian, there was a good choice.

More coat hangers in the wardrobe would’ve been good but that’s a minor niggle. The Crown doesn’t have parking which might be a problem for some but the manager directed us to a free car park very close by.

We stayed at the Crown for one night as we were attending Nocturne at Blenheim Palace and it was the perfect location. Our room was spacious, beautifully styled and a super comfy bed. Loved the bathroom products (especially the toothbrushes as I forgot mine) and once we’d worked out it was cafetière coffee, not instant, we enjoyed our hot drinks. We had dinner in the restaurant and the food was delicious. Nice atmosphere in the bar, staff friendly and helpful. And our breakfast was amazing! We would definitely stay here again.

Breakfast disappointing Unfortunately the breakfast took a long time to come When it did arrive was not very warm, Had been sat on the plate too long and the plate was cold. Shame as the presentation and ingredients were good. Maybe short staffed!

Room wasn’t ready when we arrived, in their defence we were 15 mins before check in time and they kindly offered us a drink whilst we waited saying it would be “a few minutes”. 45 minutes went by before the room was ready so 30 minutes beyond the 3pm check in time they advise. I had emailed the day before arrival with our arrival time and requesting early check in but had had no response so thankfully we didn’t arrive any earlier. Parking situation was a little confusing and the signs in the carpark definitely don’t match up with what the hotel say. Funny smell on the stairs up to rooms from the bar/restaurant.

Great location. The interior was beautiful. Didn’t matter to us but was great that they catered for different milk needs. Breakfast was incredible. A great variety on the menu. We stayed in room 4 which had air con, super comfy bed and a beautiful bathroom! Plenty of hot water and quick to fill bath tub. Toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, bath/shower gel, conditioner and shampoo all provided. Help was given for us to get our stuff upstairs.

Going out the kitchen door and no lift was a tiny inconvenience but overall it added to our adventure. P

Really enjoyed the quirky feel of staying above a pub. Really gave us an only English experience especially after a week in London. The room was a pleasant surprise in such an old pub. Clean, spacious and comfortable. Excellent bathroom. We only stayed one night but we will treasure the memory always.

As a business traveller the only disadvantage is that the breakfast service starts at 9:00 a.m.

The Crown is in a great location. It is very clean and the staff are extremely helpful. Rooms are beautifully decorated and appointed. Great evening meals and excellent beer.
