Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIt is said that it is secure for dogs - ours is only a young pup and although there is a garden at the back there isn't a completely secure gate - but this was fine as we just kept him on a long lead so he was still able to run around.
House was much bigger than expected. Gorgeous lounge and dining room and very spacious kitchen. Bedrooms were lovely. Linens all provided and of good quality. Hosts were happy for us to bring our dog (at a small extra charge). Beautiful walks in and around the house. Hosts were super helpful. Lovely touch of a jug of milk in the fridge and tea & coffee. Very clear and useful information about the house and local areas. Would definitely return and recommend.

United KingdomThe main toilet is too high and the freestanding bath doesn’t seem to be fixed. The kettle needs replacing as it leaks. The front door key area is close set to the door and can catch your fingers. There is a very sharp strut under the dining room table. For me these are minor matters as overall this is an outstanding property. However, the Wi-Fi is hit and miss, which could be a draw back for those dependent on technology or planning to combine work with leisure.
Spacious, airy, very well stocked kitchen (great to have extra cutlery and crockery ) and bookshelves. Great space in the dining room. Very comfortable lounge lit with the choice of main or lamp lighting. Two fridges, reliable working oven. luxurious master bedroom, exclusive garden. 3 toilets. Really interesting ornaments and paintings. Plentiful parking, quality accommodation, peaceful and set in a beautiful location.

United KingdomSlightly restricted turning area for car parking (5 to 7 point turn), resulting in my damaging the scoop of my largish car on the outside stone steps. But that was my own fault.
Beaufifully maintained internally-modernised old stone house by the entrance to a 18-19th century country estate with parkland. The modernisation was tastefully done, retaining the character of the (probably 19th century) property with two large bedrooms, two excellent ensuite bathrooms and a large farmhouse style kitchen with adjoining large dining room in an adjoining wing converted from a store room probably. Modenr heating system worked well and kitchen was fully equipped with everything needed for self-catering.

AustraliaNothing, although a second standup shower over the bath, with a curtain, would have been great.
A lovely house in a quiet, peaceful, rural setting. It was like a home away from home, very cosy and comfortable. It was also a handy spot to drive to St Ives, Lands End etc.

United KingdomAll was perfect, the only improvement I'd suggest is some extra pillows and also we had a double sheet on what must have been a king-size bed so the sheet would end up coming off the corners every night. Not too much of a problem though.
Lovely quiet location with good parking and only 15 mins into Falmouth. Really nice spacious home. The peacocks that wondered around the grounds were a great, interesting addition. We had everything we needed for our stay and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Lovely selection of books and games to choose from too.

United KingdomIt would have been nice to meet up with the host at some point during our stay. The WiFi didn't work so I would recommend it is removed from the advertising. Phone signal is very poor (not the host's fault) and this could also be why the WiFi was so poor. It would also have been nice to have some local information such as Restaurant's pubs shops etc and sights worth visiting.
Very Nice clean property. Very nice to have 2 fridges but a fridge and a small freezer would have been better.
