The shower attachment in the bath was a little unwieldy to use and resulted in me spraying the floor and surrounding walls. However, a soak in the roll top bath was especially welcome after our daily hikes! We opted out of a daily room service but it would have been nice to have had an option to have our drinks and crockery replenished.

The food was great and we really enjoyed our breakfasts - great choice for meat eaters and vegetarians, good quality produce and thoughtful presentation. Dinner menu was extensive and generally strong dishes however the beetroot risotto was disappointing in that it was rather dry and basic in terms of flavour. Staff were friendly and attentive at all times. Amenities in the room were great. Loved the Bramley toiletries and the coffee and biscuits were exceptional. Complimentary prosecco was an unexpected delight!

Comfortable quiet cosy room in a characterful place and nice bath rather than the usual shower in most hotels. A lot of thought had gone into providing everything required. Friendly staff. Nice atmosphere. Good location for Malmesbury town centre.

Only slight negative for me was the room only having a bath - but that's personal preference on a shower.

Team were great - waited up to let me in as I arrived after 11pm. Room was great size & had all amenities that were needed - including a little bottle of beer on the house which was a lovely touch. Breakfast in the morning was also very good. Can't fault the team or overall place.

Everything!! The room was very clean and spacious and has a very cozy ambiance and the bed was very comfortable! The bathroom is nice with a deep tub and strong shower! The staff were excellent and the breakfast was very good!!!

Room was extremely cosy and comfortable. The perfect detox night away! Pub downstairs was great and not too busy! Breakfast was also lovely.

Good parking. Property full of character. We were able to check in earlier as our room was ready. Very friendly & helpful staff who recommended places to visit. Food was delicious. Very comfortable bed. Fridge with complimentary still & fizzy water, small bottle Prosecco and zero beer. Tea & coffee making facilities. Honesty bar. This was a present from my family for my 60th. 2 small bottles of Prosecco were left on the chest of drawers with homemade biscuits and a card. Homemade chocolates were also made and happy birthday written on the plate and a candle.

I loved the country pub vibe. It was perfect for us. I booked the stay for my husband as a Christmas present so we could spend some time together before his busy work year. It was absolutely perfect. The staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough for you. The food in the restaurant was gorgeous. The blonde lady who served us was so lovely! Absolute credit to the restaurant. The room was so stylish and clean. We would 100% return.

There wasn't anything we didn't like.

Lovely old pub in nice surroundings. Staff were great, room had lots of extra touches - fridge with fres milk & mini bar,, old style radio which was playing when we arrived, cafetiere (with both decaf & regular coffee). Nice decor with range of bright & low level lighting. Great place for a stop over while travelling.

Overall decoration

Kes and her staff are amazing and a credit to the Buscombe Group. Nothing is too much trouble. Restaurant and breakfast perfect as always. Would highly recommend a stay at this well located Inn. Perhaps a look at a redecoration from the owners would be good as it is somewhat tired. This however does not take away from your stay.
