Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyThe room was nice, comfortable and quiet. The hosts were welcoming and friendly. As its pub, you don’t have to go out for dinner, and the food was delicious. And of course, a highlight for dog lovers, the host‘s dog!

United KingdomIt was a bit chilly, but there was an electric heater in our room.so we were soon wamed up. New landlords just taken over so a couple of minor teething problems but these were very quickly sorted once reported
Really nice people, lovely room in a beautiful building. The attitude of the landlord and landlady, and the housekeeper were first class. The landlords have just taken over and were very pleasant and quick to sort out the minor issues that arose.

United KingdomDinner was the Friday fish menu. The waitress seemed very vague as to what each dish was, and had to go the kitchen several times to answer our questions. We did request normal, rather than mushy peas, but still received mushy peas. The biggest issue was that service was slow. We sat down at 7.30. At 8.15 we were told dinner would be another 15 mins or so, and it eventually arrived at 8.30. The food was good.
It is basic pub/hotel. Comfortable, clean room with tea/coffee/kettle and a small table. Our room was very quiet, at back of hotel. Even though there was a big rugby match on screens downstairs, still quiet. Breakfast, first class full English.

United KingdomNeeds lots of TLC as the tap to bath was really loose , dripping shower head , and peeling paint work which is a shame because it is a beautiful old building . We were told it is in the process of changing hands . But we would return as we were made very welcome.
Our room was clean , as was the bathroom . The staff were really friendly and welcoming. Very tasty breakfast .

United KingdomIf I had to be picky I'd say I don't like white linen, I feel really guilty as I'd dyed my hair purple only a few days prior & unfortunately I stained my pillowcase ..... sorry 😢 but honestly there wasn't anything that either of us didn't like, keep up the good work 😊
Steve & Kim were very lovely, our breakfasts were delicious, hubby really like the coffee. we were pleasantly surprised & overwhelmed with the local artists mural walled beer garden, very quaint & full of unexpected treasures to discover. Our room was exceptional, unfortunately the shower lost pressure in the morning, but a refreshing bath wasn't a poor consolation, in fact (we had a sneaky bath for two, bubbles, wine & Vivaldi's Four Seasons) in the evening 😊 Will most definitely return, if Steve & Kim would have us back again in the same room.

United KingdomThe one small gripe was the window could not be open any wider. I expect the reason why we were on the front of the pub. Exceptional hot weather that weekend. But there was a fan in the room.
Lovely cooked breakfast, fried egg was cooked as requested. Had a evening meal that was great. The court yard was interesting with wall art plants etc a relaxing area. Lovely to see dogs wondering around.

United KingdomWould have liked a mini fridge in room. Some of the furnishings were old but ok. Arrival could have been slightly better. Breakfast was quite early for a w/e but was ok. Had trouble checking out/paying due to a password issue on computer/till. This could have been handled better and wasted 20 mins when we wanted to leave (which I had to do in the end and offer to pay later) this should have been offered.
Good location for the wedding we were attending. Breakfast was good, accommodated special diet needs. Was able to park ok. Separate entrance and access out of hours. Bed was nice. Drinking facilities in the room

United KingdomThe extractor fan in the bathroom wasn't working and the portable fan in the bedroom was very noisy. Would have preferred pump dispensers for the shower gel etc. Onion rings with the steaks would have been a nice option.
The breakfast was freshly cooked and had a nice choice. The Talbot is a lovely old pub with rooms. We had dinner when we arrived, which was reasonable priced and very nice. The staff were friendly, helpful and very welcoming. We will definitely stay again when we are in the area.
