In the chalet number 3 the springs in mattress uncomfortable and bedding well worn out after turning the mattress over the problem solved .It would also help to have a dust pan and brush due to being situated under trees and falling conifers.

    BRILLIANT

Lack of flat surfaces in the bedroom for phones and coffee cups. Breakfast is a bit on the late side if you like an early start.

Homely, friendly staff, fantastic food. Don't go by looks, the outside looks scruffy but it's lovely inside.

Rather peculiar room; we didn’t have an en suite as such as the bath was in the bedroom and there was a separate toilet and very small sink. The room was rather small and there was quite a lot of noise from the bar. Not many car parking spaces.

Excellent food. Good location near to Whitby.

Only one toilet and one shower for the huts. And not enough loo roll 😩

We stayed in a shepherds hut. Kinda like glamping and fun! Cosy little area set privately from the rest of the building.

Car parking was a little tight, water pressure in bathroom was low.

Perfect location for us, Quiet spot off the main road but well located for Whitby, Robin Hood's Bay etc. Great evening meal (book early).

my partner has fibromyalgia and found the bed a bit uncomfortable, she also struggles to dry standing up due to this, so the Sheppard hut was not suitable for her but good to know for our future booking of which we may book a room instead or work around her fibromyalgia by bringing a fold up stool. defiantly will book again and are looking at next year for a return visit!!

welcoming from the word go! super friendly staff and fun place to stay ( Shepard hut). Very quiet location!! no sound pollution from the pub at all! lovely area and easy to get to and from Whitby! Breakfast was delicious!!

Cute pub perfectly located just outside of Whitby. We stayed in a Shephards hut in the rear garden which was a great size for 2 adults and 1 toddler. Tea/coffee facilities in the hut with water and a tv. Toilet and shower a few steps from the hut and were very clean. We ate in the pub in the evening and the food was great. And the breakfast in the morning was lovely too. Would definitely recommend. And special shout out to the stuff who were all super friendly!

There was nothing to dislike. As l commented before ,parking is tight but fine in a rural fairly quiet location.

It was super easy to find.Parking was tight but fine as it's not a busy road. From the very welcoming staff to the lovely bedroom with a fab bathroom, there was truly nothing to dislike....cept maybe our stay was a short one. After a comfy sleep we ate a lovely breakfast with again a friendly lady serving. Will definitely book again when we visit our old friends in Whitby.

The toilet and shower facilities were small. The sink in each unit was very, very small, making it almost impossible to have a proper shave. It would have been good to have a couple more hooks in the shower room, especially next to the shower, so the towel was in reach. We were lucky with the weather, but in the wet/cold, it would not have been much fun using the facilities - especially in the middle of the night. But, that is glamping, and we knew what to expect before we arrived.

We stayed in one of the Shepherd Huts. It was an interesting stay - think glamping, but not in a tent. Breakfast was great and the staff friendly. The toilet and shower facilities, whilst not part of the hut, were regularly cleaned.

Cabins could do with some insulation for winter and stronger curtains to keep light out. Could really do with more than 1 toilet and shower between 4 cabins. Even if they could squeeze in 2 toilets and 2 showers ot would make a difference.

Lovely pub in a great location just outside of whitby. Small community feel to the pub, staff were happy and helpful
