Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomOn arrival I could not get in, I tried calling but no one was available, it took around 20 minutes. I even left a voicemail with no response. I had a response once in via text about some other issues but no follow up. upon entry there was a strong smell of cannabis. Also we booked for three and only enough towels and bedding for two.
The property was very clean and tidy, it was well maintained and comfortable.

IrelandNo keys in the lock box when we arrived! Despite requesting a 4pm check in which was confirmed and arriving at 4:30pm the apartment was not ready. The cleaner had keys and we had no way of knowing where they were. Had to use WhatsApp to communicate with owners which was very slow. Apartment was on top floor of 5 with no lift access. This should be communicated prior to booking. My wife has breathing difficulties and found the stairs a challenge. Hand rails for the stairs would be of great benefit. The sofa bed was broken and kept collapseing down so we couldn’t sit on it.

United StatesProcess to register and pay deposit is complicated. I paid right after the confirmation but still receive the email asked me to register and pay. As a result, I paid twice. After checked out, I emailed the mgt office more than twice about the refund. I was not given the room I booked but the basement, cold and smelly. The glass door in one of the bedrooms doesn’t have curtain. The street light is facing the bed all nights.

United KingdomThere was a number of stains on the towels and marks on the walls which I agree must be expected in any apartment being rented. I would advise bringing your own towels which is what we did. There were small things that didn’t make it a higher overall score such as one roll of toilet roll for 2 people over 5 nights. Additionally, we found the oven difficult to use - an instruction manual would have been useful. It seemed the washing machine didn’t work either? Overall for the price we paid and the location, small faults must be overlooked and it was a good deal.
The location was excellent. It was a 10 minute walk from Archway which we used most days because of the handy connective links to everywhere in London. The apartment was large for London standards with a nice bathroom and modern kitchenette and living area.

NigeriaGarbage disposal was very inefficient. There are insufficient garbage bins and guests leave their garbage on the ground around the entrance to the apartments. Please provide additional garbage bins. The property is not flexible with early check-in so plan your trip accordingly cos they would only provide check-in info at 3 pm. Early check-in is charged at £30 for every hour before 4pm.
The location is exceptional, close to train station, subway stations and bus stop, with grocery shops nearby. The apartment was clean and modern with very comfortable bed and beddings.

United KingdomNot happy about the 57 stairs up to the apartment, my legs aren't good, should have been flagged up when booking to warn people with mobility issues. Bit style over substance eg bedside lights not working, only one dessert spoon, alarm going off in the hallway for first two days.
Apartment very spacious and well set up, neutral decor pleasing. Great location for what we wanted to do and excellent transport links. Great to have Netflix on the TV and felt relaxed in general.

Nothing. They cancelled the booking a day after they took payment. Impossible to deal with on the phone and tell me they will refund me in 2-3 weeks, will look into it and want me to send them invoice of my other accommodation so they can check if I booked and will give me balance. Disgraceful set up. Never book these.

United KingdomWe encountered an ant infestation upon our arrival at the property, resulting in such an unpleasant stay that we decided to leave early. We also noticed damages to the furniture in the property, as well as a water leakage from the shower.

United KingdomOnly thing I can mention is that the shower leaked when used a few times in a row, not too big a deal as we had plenty of towels.
The apartment was nice, modern and very clean. Had all you would expect from a hotel stay, included towels, hairdryer with tea/coffee etc. Check in was very easy, just arrive & use the information sent by the host on the day of arrival. The host would call to check all ok & was contactable until late at night. The deposit stayed as a pending payment & returned quickly.
