Breakfast only from 8am to 9am which is not great and not mentioned to us before arrival on site. Room was not 100% clean as we had crumbs on the floor. Not enough plugs in the twin room as all taken by alarm clock, kettle,TV and side bedlamp(which was not working). Overrated price and not a 3 star hotel.

Superb location near the castle and not far from the race we were doing on Saturday. Breakfast staff very friendly and helpful. They served us a quick breakfast before the race as the opening hours were limited. Welcome was great too.

Our room was at the top of the building, up several flights of very narrow stairs, difficult to carry up a suitcase. The weather was very hot, the room did have a an electric fan, but was hot and airless. Also evening meals were fine but nothing special. Sunday evening was roast pork, just a couple of slices of pork, no crackling, no roast potatoes. Adequate but not a typical Sunday roast.

Excellent breakfast. Good choice of cereal, items for cooked breakfast, toast, marmalade etc. In fact everything you could want in a full English breakfast.

There is nothing in particular that I didn't like. The only thing, in my opinion, is that the hotel style/decor needs a bit of tlc.

Very friendly staff and good and enjoyable food.

It was very dated. There wasn’t a bar as such and we changed rooms after the first night as the bed was so uncomfortable and on a slant. The outdoor seating area seemed very neglected

The location was lovely and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly Our stay was overall good I just feel that it needs a good overhaul

The condition of the hotel. The rooms are in a horrendous condition. The decor is dated, the bathroom was stinking, the floor of the bathroom was almost coming off, the window panes were dirty, the bed was uncomfortable . Definitely not worth the price we paid for 2 nights.

The location and staff are excellent! Very friendly helpful.

The only issue we could have faced was parking outside the hotel, which is very limited, but fortunately we found spaces for both evenings. There is a pay and display car park a few minutes walk away.

A very good location and very dog friendly. It was good to be able to have meals with the dog in a separate room from the main restaurant. The meals were good with more choice than we had expected for a half board option. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Being handed a Ski yogurt..but I told the man in charge that Tim's Dairys do farm yogurts and he made a note of it because the last farm went bust that is why they had ski yogurts

The lovely veg and the sheep shearing outside the hotel on the sunday. I especially liked the buttery Potatoes and nice fresh fish and delicious starters

Bath water , as it was so busy the hot water was under duress ! Taps ready for a replacement I think. Some of the public areas are a little dated but it was comfortable everywhere and enough space to remain Covid clear.

Character, dog friendly, lovely light filled bedrooms, staff did really well considering how busy it was on a sunny bank holiday straight out of lockdown! Food was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, we were fortunate to get a a “superior room”. We had a lovely outlook, nice lot of space, lots of storage for clothes., somewhere to sit, and as much tea and coffee and biscuits as you wanted.

Paying £660 for 3 nights stay with no room cleaning done at all, plastic/paper cups in the room & bathroom (COVID protection supposedly) and no available parking nearby, unless you were lucky. Plus painting and decorating being done on all 3 days we were there.

Staff were all very friendly and hardworking. Food generally was a high standard and lots of it. Breakfast was ok but due to being the only couple in the hotel we did not receive a full cooked breakfast as expected - limited to tinned tomatoes, although fresh tomatoes were on the menu, and no effort made to supply them.
