Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesA beautifully appointed hotel in the best location— a short walk to the old town and the new section. All the staff were friendly and accommodating and went above and beyond to ensure we had the perfect stay. Even the breakfast was exceptional. I highly recommend this hotel.

CroatiaNothing really; the AC was on a bit of a noisier side and perhaps a wardrobe or more space to put your clothes would be appreciated (and more towel hooks?). However, this is such an irrelevant and minor detail that should not deter you from staying here, as you will high-five yourself for choosing this hotel and suite :).
We stayed for the first couple of days in the Old Town and later changed hotels to Elakati as we wanted some luxury on our trip. The hotel is well located, near amazing bars and restaurants (Tis Mamis place is amazing), and a 5-minute walk from the beach. The staff is absolutely amazing and this is one of the first times I really felt like not in a hotel, but rather a home.. they really seem like they love their job. The queen suite is the best choice - just imagine after a long day of walking or sightseeing relaxing at your own private jacuzzi, that can comfortably fit 4 people. Just great. The beds are pretty good, queen-sized. Also, what's worth mentioning - the breakfast is one of the best I've tried (in a hotel) and give yourself 30-40 minutes to enjoy to the fullest. I mean FRESHLY squeezed orange juice (thank you, Christina! :)), salad with avocado along great omelette, passion fruit in a fruit salad, different breakfast special every day... We loved our stay here!

United StatesThe breakfast that was included was superb, a 5-star experience. Jenny the chef freshly prepared all foods including baking fresh bread and pastries every morning. The selection was perfect, eggs, omelets (made to order) delicious Greek yogurt, fruit. Everything was exceptional including the service and attention to detail. Freshly made coffee was also available all day, including the famous Greek Freddo Cappucino. The entire staff at The Elakati was warm, helpful, and extremely attentive, anything you needed including getting Covid tests for travel was handled efficiently and always with kindness. The rooms were gorgeous, immaculately clean and the Roman showers were exquisite, they even had a turn-down service, and chocolate was placed on your pillow each evening. The location was close to everything, including Medieval Rhodes town, beaches, restaurants, and shopping. We all had a fantastic experience and would visit this hotel again for its hospitality and excellent service. When we were checking out they also provided us with a lovely gift, this was a nice touch and something I never experienced before. Finally, all Covid protocols were in place so one should feel completely safe staying at the Elakati Hotel.

MaltaThere wasn't anything to dislike, so I would rate the Elakati an excellent place to stay when in Rhodes
It's a very small but pretty hotel, just around the corner from various shops and restaurants. The staff were very friendly especially Christina who was the receptionist and who pointed out several interesting things for us to see and do. Breakfast was excellent. Luckily for us we had good weather so going around posed no problem at all.

LatviaI was not able to stay in the room, what I booked due to some electricity issue in my room only... Instead I was offered to stay in another room, where I was not able to sleep due to the noise (very close to the reception and kitchen) and there were also a lot of smell from kitchen and very strong cleaning liquid. BUT they did not charge me for the first night and provided upgrade for the second night.
Staff was very friendly and tried to solve the issue that my room was not available due to some electricity issue. Breakfast was very good and overall you feel that staff tries to do everything that you feel welcomed.

BelgiumThe air conditioning is not easy to use because one cannot put it off, you have to ask in the reception, which isn’t practical. Bathroom was a bit small.
The hotel is very nice, the team very efficient and the beds are very good with Coco-mat mattresses and pillows, breakfast is excellent.
