Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Lovely owners who ran this beautiful little hotel, they even cooked us breakfast every morning. Fantastic location, down a quiet street in the old town and the most idyllic courtyard with a traditional Dodecanese pebble mosaic.

Elli is the perfect host. Friendly, helpful and extremely accommodating. She collected our luggage and drove on to the hotel, whilst we took the short stroll through the enchanting cobbled streets to this delightful accommodation. Every little detail has been thought of to make your stay relaxing and comfortable. We recharged for 3 nights and enjoyed the beautifully presented and delicious breakfast each morning before wandering around this idyllic ancient walled town. In the evening we ate very well at (Elli recommended) local tavernas and when we finally headed home, felt we had had the best of times. Perfection. Thanks

Elly has created an absolutely gorgeous oasis in the heart of old town, from the moment we made the booking our communication with Elly was fantastic, she responded in a very timely manner and accommodated all of our requests without any issue. Elly kindly assisted with our luggage to and from the port without any hesitation. We were provided with a very informative map outlining the best places to eat & drink/ tips and tricks on how to get the most out of our visit. every recommendation was fantastic, thank you again! The breakfast in the morning was so fresh and a perfect way to start the day: fresh fruit salad, delicious Greek eggs and an assortment of Greek pastries and bread. We stayed for 3 nights in the Portokali room which was comfortable, spacious and beautifully decorated. The room was spotless and had a homely feel to it. The mini bar is included in the room price which is a very thoughtful touch. the property is located down a quiet side street just a 5 minute walk away from the busy shopping/restaurant squares in old town. we thought the location was perfect. we were able to escape the heat in the middle of the day and relax in our room / gorgeous court yard and then head out easily to see many of the incredible sites throughout old town in late afternoon/ evening. during check out we were kindly allowed to take a late check out and Elly met us later in the day with our luggage to allow us to spend the day walking around with no baggage. I can’t recommend this property enough, a real gem with a fantastic host and staff. we can’t wait to come back and stay again :)

South AfricaElly went out of her way to ensure we were comfortable and rested, despite our late arrival and short stay - transfers of luggage to and from Ellique through the Old Town of Rhodes (a great help, as no cars allowed in Old Town); a clean and spacious room in a quiet but central part of the Old Town, with all the amenities you need; a lovely unending breakfast; and great recommendations for places to visit. Thank you Elly!

Hotel Ellique is a little gem in a quiet area of the stunning medieval Rhodes Old Town. The wonderful owner and host Elli, gave us many excellent tips for restaurants, all of which were fantastic. The nearby Nireas Taverna has the best seafood spaghetti. The upstairs room (Portokali) was spacious, immaculately clean, lovely decor, with a huge comfy bed. Excellent facilities, toiletries and seating area. Breakfast was another treat, fruit, yoghurt and rose syrup, pastries, eggs, fresh juice and water. The Greek eggs and waffles were particular favourites. All in a beautiful courtyard full of curated curiosities and plants. We stayed for four days, but could easily have stayed for longer and will be staying again.
