Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustriaThis is a wonderful family business, the owners/staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. The location is ideal, very central (btw. Port and village) but also quiet. The rooms are air-conditioned and there is a little fridge as well. The breakfast is very rich and traditional, with local pie and jam, cake, fresh juice, coffee and eggs/Omelette, served in a beautiful inner yard with lots of shade. Truly excellent, the perfect place to be in Galaxidi!!

GreeceMy only complain, if you want to call it complain, was the space in the room. The room probably was desined for two people not three. So, the third bed was taking up most of the free space. I wouldn't though consern this as an issue, since the price of the room was great
The breakfast and the service in the morning was exceptional. The location was just 30 meters from the center. O would definatly book again in the same property.

CyprusKitchen in the basement, old furniture, too much moisture and old air condition units, you could hear a couple having intimate moments from the corridor and the receptionist was the owner with lack of discretion and proper welcoming and guidance about our stay.
Central location, nice looking building from outside, friendly kitchen staff, got a gift at exit (marmalade jar)

GreeceThe triple room was very small for three persons, bathroom also very small and a bit smelly...
Excellent location, close to museum, restaurants, port etc. There is free parking outside the hotel for the guests. The breakfast was very good with eggs as you like, fresh juice, cheese pie, homemade marmalade, etc (no ham or bacon though...)

United StatesThe bed was so hard! No spring or cushion to it.
Breakfast was okay - it was made by a lovely woman and she delivered it on a tray - in a cute garden area. We probably prefer breakfasts where we get to pick what we want from more options and that was not an option.

United Arab EmiratesWe weren't at all welcomed by the owner of the hotel, he was EXTREMELY disrespectful. As per other people we spoke to in town he is known for giving people an attitude. We were very polite when asking him a few questions regarding the room and instead of him clarifying, he was sarcastic and extremely rude. He started cursing when we told him we didn't appreciate his tone and then he ended up telling us that if we don't like his attitude we can leave. He had the nerve to throw our money back on the floor and making hand gestures which in Greece we know are very disrespectful. We didn't deserve such treatment.
The location and the breakfast are the ONLY thing we were satisfied with.

GreeceHorrible experience with the owner. After I booked the room through booking.com, the owner called me and literally BLACKMAILED ME into canceling my booking through the website and re-paying directly to him at the reception of the hotel. He treated me so badly over the phone I don't have the words. He kept calling and saying " If you don't cancel, don't come, I won't have a room for you". I explained that if I did so, I would pay twice, as it was a last minute booking for the very same night, he kept saying then don't come, and what are you going to do ? It's night and you're a foreigner, you won't find another place to stay" I was chocked, I never had such a bad experience. In the end, we still showed to the hotel, in order no to pay a fee for no-show and gather some proof if we had to report it to booking, and then, at last, they let us into our room. Shame that some business owners dare to behave in such a way
great breaksfast, nice location and decent room thought the bathroom was a bit small

GermanyThe reception was rude already on arrival. When we reported the fridge not working it got even worse. They first claimed it will be cold in an hour, but when it then didn’t, the man at the counter got annoyed. The treatment was inacceptable, one did not feel welcome at all. The toilet seat was not fixed properly, the bathroom is super tiny. No room for luggage whatsoever. There was no cup in the room. The blankets were furry fluffy and did feel unpleasant and unclean.
The parking was easy and right in front of the hotel. Breakfast was ok too.

GreeceVery poor insulation, the partition walls were like cardboards. You could hear every little sneeze and noise from the adjacent room. Woke up at 5am due to TV noise. Extremely disappointing - very unpleasant stay. The room was inadequately cleaned. We found hair behind the WC door and the carpets inside the room weren't properly vacuumed. Regarding the breakfast: there is no buffet, you can only have a very small variety of things served to you like bread, jams, honey etc (no cereals though) and choose between boiled eggs or omelette. The good thing is that you can have espresso or cappuccino and not just the regular filter coffee. What was served was ok, but nothing special - it can be tempting though for travellers coming from abroad who would fancy eating Greek homemadish staff or things like olives. Regarding the Covid measures, the fact that the breakfast room wasn't naturally ventilated at all is very serious. The staff were wearing masks (apart from the owner (?) at the reception) but we had our breakfast as quickly as possible as we wanted to leave the packed room. Would not recommend it because three basic expectations were not met: cleanliness, sound proof partition walls and adequate Covid measures.

United KingdomThe room was small and we felt it was expensive for what it was, we didn't sleep well - if you open the window you hear all the ACs from other rooms and buildings but if you have it closed and turn on the AC you freeze - well, there is a thick blanket for a reason!
Good location few minutes walk to promenade, breakfast was good, they let us choose between two rooms upon arrival and they gave us a jar of homemade jam when we left, the receptionist gave us lots of recommendations

A nice, clean hotel with very friendly staff for a short stay at Galaxidi. Most on offer at breakfast are hand-made or locally produced. Location of the hotel is good, i.e. bakery, a variety of restaurants and bars.
