Sometimes the cleaning staff would clean my room after I’d left when I still had the do not disturb light on, but there are worse things than having your room cleaned.

This hotel was the absolute paradise I needed. The hotel itself is beautiful, laid back, and peaceful, so you can truly relax - the hammock and mountain views were a particular bonus! The pool area is gorgeous and even has a flamingo-shaped floatation ring for guests to share. Some previous reviews have mentioned not being able to order food and drinks from the poolside as a negative, but actually through the “chat to reception” function on the app you can without having to leave the comfort of your lounger. The hotel has a sister resort which you can get to for free by shuttle any time of day. I only went to use the beach space (I recommend walking back to the hotel along the beach) but you can use their restaurants, spa, activities, and pool space too if you’re interested. I was only there for 3 nights but I found the dinner at pilot amphora to be delicious (5 course meal) and breakfast had plenty of choice. One night we even had live music from a very talented cellist at dinner. There are also good tavernas within short walking distance. What makes this hotel so special is the staff - it’s the same small team so you get to know everyone and they truly go above and beyond to make your stay as special as possible. Vaggelhs (at reception) and Vasilis (around the bar and restaurant area) in particular were amazing and will happily meet your every need. I can’t recommend this hotel enough and would go back in a heartbeat.

The pilot amphora hotel was exceptional! We had an amazing vacation. The hotel is beautiful,perfect for a couples vacation. Staff was so so nice and went out if their way to help and recommend special places we should go. Panos is the perfect host and took special care of us. Everything was very clean And food was delicious. We hope to come back and stay with them again.

Everything about this small boutique hotel is perfect for couples (or a solo traveller). The staff are next level, so attentive, accommodating and genuinely just so friendly. From the general manager, to the head waiter to the cleaners and receptionists. Not usually ones to eat at the hotel, we usually like to explore, we got in late on the first evening and the food was that incredible, we stayed for the next 3 nights. 5 course dinner, menu available prior, all absolutely delicious. Breakfast was superb, a large choice of hot and cold options alongside additional options such as fried eggs and omelettes cooked to order. We were very lucky to receive an upgrade upon arrival, and the room was a great size and absolutely spotlessly clean (which the cleaners kept throughout our stay). The pool area is picturesque, overlooking the mountains, a real sun trap, quiet and somewhere you could spend the whole day. Located a minutes walk from the town and 5 minutes walk to the beach, the location is great for both those that want something a little quieter but close enough to walk back from where ever you are in the town. We could not recommend this hotel enough, and we will most certainly be returning!

We absolutely loved our stay here! The service was impeccable, with special thanks to Vangelis and Panos. They were incredibly accommodating, friendly and helpful - definitely some of the best service we have received at a hotel. The dinner at the hotel was delicious and we wish we had done it on more evenings! The hotel is very quiet and relaxing, with good size bedrooms, pool and gym. There are free shuttles to the larger resort hotel which has a beach, pool and restaurants. Would definitely come back to stay here.

The staff is amazing from the reception to the restaurant, Vangelis, Panos and the rest of the team did an amazing job during our stay. The restaurant is fantastic with 5 course meals every evening. The design and atmosphere of the hotel is very relaxing, best way to spend your honeymoon.

The metal sun beds around the pool seemed out of place with the design but was good to have them as the pool was often busy. The hairdryer in the room was the only downfall it was terrible and restricted to a draw (like a travel-loge) The breakfast could of been better, plenty of choice but not great quality I felt the hotel was slightly overpriced when comparing to other hotels we stayed at during our visit to Crete.

The hotel was small and intimate, well designed and great service from the staff We had a room with a private dip pool which we didn’t really use as there were no loungers just patio furniture, this felt a little out of place with the design of the hotel. Overall the hotel was a well designed boutique hotel, quiet location with a few restaurants in walking distance. if your looking for a large luxury hotel I wouldn’t say this is for you but if you want a quiet small hotel this is perfect for a few nights stay
