How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Could do with some new pillows.
Great hostel room. Comfortable single bed. Hot shower. Tea, coffee and water available for free. Friendly staff. Towel on bed. Super impressed with this place and for such a great price.

The hotel is removed from the main part of town and it takes about 20 minutes or so to get to the dock. The wifi wasn't that good.
The hotel was extremely clean and the room was comfortable. The paid breakfast was excellent.

It is outside of the center but we didn’t mind that it only cost 5 quetzales to take a tuk tuk to center 😊
Very tidy and clean even though the hotel it’s quite old but that didn’t bother me 😊 Comfortable beds and pillows

slightly out the way but about 20 min walk from town which didn’t bother us at all. we walked back and night no problems it’s a safe place.

Not really any facilities besides a bed and shower but that is to be expected at this price. The location is somewhat far from the centre but you know that in advance of course.
The owner is very friendly and is literally jumping to help you. The place was very clean and there is plenty of privacy.

Size of the rooms. Friendliness of staff. Location was as expected. Outside of main town but a short walk away. Quiet and fantastic value for money. Shower was great. Breakfast additional but great value. Lovely communal areas on each floor.

Good Budget hotel/hostel. Very nice staff. No bunk beds which was nice. Clean and comfortable.

The location is a bit far away from centro and the lanchas, but it's cheap to get around by mototaxi.
Comfy place to stay. Not social, so a good place to chill by yourself and recharge.

I wish they had a light by the bed - at 72 I can’t stumble from main light switch to bed It’s one of my new important things about a hotel Bedside lamps - it’s good The only bummer was my daughter was I’ll and one day and left her phone with all her Tikal photos etc outside and more than likely one of the traveling locals who now stay here stole it Generally people steal if they have a chance But …. Just be careful Phones are tempting … it was outside . It was her fault

would prefer regular pillows to the memory foam ones
lovely location away from centre offers quiet & calm environment. everything was very clean & as described. hot water, ample blankets & a fan provided. windows open with screens & beds were comfy. friendly hosts & lots of room.

The WiFi is stable but very slow and the hotel is a bit outside of Pana.
The Place is very clean and the Staff is adorable. For this price it is one of the best accomondations arround lake Atitlan.

a bit far away from the center, even if we knew that! However we walked back there even during the evening and did not feel unsafe We stayed 2 nights and the day after the first night, someone went to our room to clean up and make the bed, it is very nice but it would be good to be told in advance in order to pack our belongings a bit
Very clean, the room were nice and comfortable for that price and we slept well the shower is a good temperature and pressure is alright even though it was concentrated in wone point and not diffused The owner let us use the kitchen when his employees or himself did not need it which was very appreciated

The location is not the best otherwise I would have stayed there forever but still not far
The beds were so comfy and it’s so clean I loved it and I really rested here, hot shower, potable water and towel Everything is so clean!!!

Position is slightly outside of the Panajachel, but about 20 min. by walk to the city center or you can take tuk tuk for Q5/person to get there.
Perfect service, two levels above guatemalian standards. Possible to make a laundry here, overall nice accomodation with hot shower for very good price. Breakfast was also very tasty.

it is a little bit of a walk to the center of Pana, which we did not mind. but others should keep this in mind. but tuk tuks are cheap.

I liked it all. Do understand that you will be a few minutes out of town but we walked with no problem.
Breakfast is great…avalué at 30Q. Owners are so helpful.
