Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

United KingdomI was in a rush in one morning and asked to have a cup of coffee and a pastry, was charged full breakfast price of HK180. I find a large bug crawling on the bath room florr which I took a photo and showed the front desk.
good location, staff changed my room when I complained about the noise from the air-con.

United StatesThis hotel is well overdue for a major renovation. Once you walk in the room, you can see the decor is about two generations old. Furnitures and fixtures are old and falling apart. The refrigerator in the room did not work. There are only two AC outlets -- both at the desk and far away from the bed. Most modern hotels have about a dozen charging outlets, including USBs, and at least two to four of them right by your bedside.
Right in the heart of Causeway Bay, the location is perfect, and is within walking distance to numerous public transportation options including the MTR. It is also within a short walk to many of my favorite restaurants and shopping centers. Every staff member that I have encountered are professional and friendly -- especially the cleaning lady.

MacaoReservation Manager Karis Lau is a complete useless person, super unprofessional!! Late reply to emails, never able to pick up the phone. Requested and early check-in at 18:00 on the previous day of my arrival, to check-in at 12:00/1300, replied the day I arrived 3 hours after I checked-in, saying I need to make a request in advance.... Unlike the rest of the staff who were exceptional this person should seriously consider a career change. Made a formal complaint to the Regal Hotel Manager.

SingaporeThe service quality of the hotel is terrible! I have issues on two occasions with staffs with bad attitudes. 1) I tried to get a taxi in the morning and the concierge just asked me to wait at the taxi stand. When asked if he call a taxi for me, he replied it is difficult to get a taxi in the morning and I have to wait (terrible attitude) 2) On the day of my departure, I tried to ask for a late check out at 11.00am because of an appointment at noon. The Reception staff asked for my room number before saying that the hotel is full and I have to vacate the room by noon. When I went back to the room to pick up my luggage, I found that my key-card no longer has access to the room and have to go back to the reception (and queue again) to report the key-card malfunction. The staff wants to verify my personal data in great detail (even though I was there just 15 minutes ago) asking for confidential personal information in front of other guests within hearshot. I have wasted about 40 minutes in total just to ask for a late checkout that was declined. I had to check out, leave my luggage at the concierge before going for my appointment which in the end resulted in my being late for my appointment by 1 hour.
The location is good with direct access to the tram and bus services, and a short walk to the Causeway bay MTR station. There are a lot of good restaurants and shopping malls within walking distant. The hotel, though old, is well kept, clean and comfortable. The Chinese restaurant on the third level offers traditional Cantonese dishes and Dim Sum at reasonable prices.
