How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The location of this apartment is perfect. Central for everything in the Old Town. The host was so lovely and waited until 1am to meet us to check in. She then gave us a very useful guide of the area and amenities. The apartment itself was very clean, lovely and traditional and quiet! Perfect for a break away.

The apartment was a bit dark due to the closeness of the next building however this is common in old towns
A perfect city centre location. Dragica was very friendly and helpful. The apartment had everything you needed

The location is excellent, it’s in the middle of old town and we had no issues with the host and they were ready to help and friendly.

Nothing, the apartment is perfect.
The owner of apartment Dragica is a lovely local lady, who was more than happy to show us the best things to do in Zadar. She made sure we had the most positive start to our short stay.

Not much. It is a little small, but for one night was perfect.
The location, just off the main square was superb. It was on the ground floor which made things easy. The owner who met us was lovely and explained where to explore and offered good restaurant options.

It would be nice to get some basic cooking ingredients like salt, oil, pepper, etc
The location is PERFECT. It is literally on the main street in the centre, all the shops and restaurants are seconds away. The beach is about a 10-15min walk away, which is good. Although it is located in the centre, the apartment itself is very quiet. There is AC and many towels. The host is a very nice and welcoming lady.

location was perfect. nice basic apartment in the old town. The hostess lives near the apartment and came immediately when we called to tell her we had arrived.

The bathroom was tight for use, as was the sink and the shower space
Location is excellent: a/ within 15-20 minutes walk from the bus station; b/ in the center of the old town; c/ 5 minute walk to the water for a swim and to Sea Organ;. Also: i/ someone was there when we got there after they had an initial exchange of email with us as to our arrival; ii/ very smooth administration; iii/ very clean; iv/ the availability of the kitchen was great, including a fridge where you could adjust the temperature; iv/ warm water was available; v/ quiet; vi/ Dragica, the owner ensured we had everything we needed at the start (towels, toilet paper, cutlery, glasses, salt/pepper, etc.)

Wi-fi - signal dropped out if you moved too far from to the modem. Would have really nice yo have a toaster and a corkscrew

We missed a coffee-machine /cooker. The rooms of our appartment were towards a street of the old town where there is a lot of activty also in the eve at night (not cars, only people). If you are sensistive to noise and want an open window to sleep you may need oropax. There is an appartment that opens towards the yard - there is perfect peace there.
The location is superb in the middle of the old town. The landlady was very friendly and flexible.

The door to the bathroom is very thin (and loud) folding door and has trouble closing correctly.
Location was amazing, if you’re looking for something in the heart of the old city. Place was clean and the shower (although small) had different showerheads to choose from.

Perfect location, good advice from the owner. For parking better to park outside of the old city with very cheap and nearby parking lots. Apartment was perfect.

There is no normal sink, only very small one near the toilet. Shower cabin actually located in the kitchen. No microwave.
Location just perfect, in the midle of old city just near the People's Square. Appartment is big enough with little kitchen.
