Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RomaniaThe quality of the food is not as good as it was (I was here before and I came back more than 5 times and good food was a reason). There seems to be a little lack of organisation, for example, one day, there were not available beach towels until after noon and also another example we sometimes waited even more than 15 minutes to get a drink at the bar.
All improvements brought to the hotel. The new restaurant, new beach bar, improved beach. You can see that some investments were made.

Czech RepublicBeach as such not very well prepared, at 5* hotel private beach I would expect somehow more "user friendly" coast. All around big stones, without shoes you can not go to the water anyhow. Lazy and passive waiters! (it is about men, girls/ ladies more friendly, active and professional). Extremely high price which does not correspond to the level of service and general hotel infrastructure quality! In spite of Booking.com guarantees payment in €uro, hotel charged the accomodation in Croatian Kuna. Will complain about it to Booking.com (lost approx €uro 350,- due to exchange rate diff).
Hotel infrastructure and facility very good. Location as such nice as located directly on the coast. Very good food in the hotel. Very well prepared and good food quality breakfast. Acceptable food quality in other 2 restaurants located in hotel area/ resort. Very modern and quite well equipped gym (located 200 m out of the hotel in special building).

CroatiaEverything is very old and do not smell well. Rooms are old, wooden, not very clean, bathroom is connected completely with the room???!!! Beach is not adapted at all, sea is clean but entrance in the sea is difficult and not comfortable. Beach equipment is old wood with many ants. I had a lot of bites of mosquitoes from room and does not look as usual so I think there is high possibility that rooms within this wooden furniture have also bed bugs. New 3 stars hotels are much better than this. I feel robbed. Prices are extreme, and not in compliance with 5 stars at all.
It is paid for 5 stars hotel. This is definitely not 5 stars hotel from all aspects, so in summary there was nothing to like except location.

BelgiumThis is not a 5 star hotel. Max 3. It’s starts with entering trough the barrier. They don’t say welcome, but they open the window and say rude Yes? Then they can’t find you and have to spell your name 5 times. Then the reception, no doorman and rude reception lady with obviously no experience at all. The interior is old, dated and broken. There is loud music in all restaurants so you can’t talk. Food is ok though. Rooms are a total joke. Old beds with sheets that don’t even fit. They use double sheets for a singe cover?? Airco does not work so very hot and lot of noise only. (You can’t sleep for sure) . Beds are very uncomfortable. We think al lot of reviewers are fake and bought by the management. Pools are dirty and Tiles are loos and damaged, so you can hurt yourself. Beds at pool very old and dirty again! They also think that all clients are German!! Towel boy again rude and clear not enjoying his work at the pool. Max 3 star hotel maybe 2! This has nothing to do with holidays after a year of working at home. Here you are a walking ATM for rude management, nothing more nothing less!!
leaving after one night was the only positive here!

AustriaOur main impression: Lack of offering in and around the hotel outside of the summer season. We visited in November for a wellness weekend. As there was no opportunity to go to the beach, or eat at nearby restaurants, we relied much more on what the hotel had to offer. It wasn´t much. There is only ONE restaurant with a buffet and no a-la-carte offering. The venue is also a typical breakfast amenity, so if you hoped for a nice "evening" place to have a dinner, you´d better hop into your car and go to Zadar (a 15-20 min drive). Moreover, the hotel had NO OPTIONS to order anything to eat after 10 pm!! There is not even a vending machine.... So if when we got hungry on Saturday evening, the only option were quite expensive peanuts from the mini bar. There was no food delivery service and the only suggested option on Saturday after 10 pm was get into our car and drive to a McDonalds drive-in in Zadar. We were also hardly able to get any appointments for spa and wellness treatments for the weekend. It seems due to lack of personnell in winter. The hotel has some nice pools and you can also swim in the outside pools, but the water was relatively cold for such conditions. So, all in all, despite the beautiful environment and the impressive location, we didn´t have much to do there. What we learned is, that this is a hotel for families with kids rather than a spa and wellness retreat for couples who want to have a relaxing weekend. With this offering, we wouldn´t visit Falkenstein Iadera during winter any more.
Great location for a weekend getaway, wonderful surrounding of the hotel, great for long walks ba the sea. The staff is very friendly and helpful, so despite some negative experiences, that aspect was really positive.

AustriaThe steak restaurant had permanently big ants falling from the ceiling. staff mentioned it is like that, and they cannot change it. It s not the staff s fault, they were friendly, it s management who should either close the restaurant or treat that problem. for a hotel that pretends to be high level, this is NOT supposed to happen. Having big flying ants fall off the ceiling in your steak, wine and body is just disgusting and not tolerable for this standard. was management on holidays or do they not care.....

United StatesThis hotel needs a lot of attention. For one, the positive reviews are either old or were purchased. The hotel staff is not attentive and the facilities show it. There was dog poop on the floor outside of our room, stains everywhere, and towels that could have been there for days. We went to the “Steak” restaurant, which has more pizza than steaks. The food is mediocre at best. We tried, key word being tried to go to book a spa. The front desk told us there was plenty of spots and no rush to book, but when we went to the spa the place was completely booked. In hindsight, thank it was booked. The spa has seen better days. The staff was rude and a few too many guests were with their much younger dates than was for comfort. I think this hotel might be a swingers or very adult hotel.
There is very little that is positive about this hotel. The hotel had decently fast WiFi.

SwitzerlandThis hotel is over priced and not at all a Real 5 star hotel. Services are limited. I asked for some spa treatments and never got a response, they do not serve Food and drinks at the beach at all. Rooms are super small with open shower and bath and there is no privacy at all, toilet has owful wooden doors that cannot be closed properly. Breakfast is really poor. Food choose is super limited in pool bars and at breakfast. All in all this is solid 4 star hotel.
It has great Location, beautiful Nature and beach around. Great Sea Food restaurant at the beach. Staff at the restaurants and bars are nice.

Everything! The facilities, the restaurants, the food, the cocktails, the wine, the location, the pools, the spa, the beach… But most of all, the employees. I cannot sing the praises of the people that work at the Iadera highly enough. Special shout out to Goran and Tania but there were many other amazing people working there.
