How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Bar closes at 11 and not many other places with a similar feel open later.
Fantastic customer service who will go out of their way to help. High end vibes whilst feeling relaxed and like it’s your own home. The food, especially Kaum, was exquisite!

The staff and facilities were amazing. Staff were so hospitable and the property was so clean. The tannaman breakfast was absolutely delicious. Beds were comfortable. Spa treatments were fantastic

Nothing, absolutely nothing. If you considering a hotel in Seminyek and looking for a sign, this is your sign to book Potato Head
Oh wow what a beautiful stay. We were celebrating husbands birthday while at Potato Head. Upon arrival found out we had been upgraded to Suites. The room is spectacular, the service is absolutely impressive. The breakfast views and food itself is to die for. We had dinner at Ijen, Kanu and the Pizza restaurant- all just serve amazing food. I liked that at night we also couldn’t hear a single sound from the beach club. We will definitely be back for a lot more nights to explore all other amenities. What a beautiful hotel, it’s even more beautiful than the pictures

I think the rooms are just a little too small as they only have studios or suites available and comming with my family my son didn’t have much rooms to play

It's quite funny to me that a hotel like this can't offer a properly chilled beer at their beach club, plus the champagne selection on the menu didn't match what they actually had available and it also came at the wrong temperature... the food, both in the restaurant and breakfast, was pretty average and nothing special either

The studio shower was kind of awkward for my liking but I managed to work with it. Definitely is not a show stopper.

My soul is attached to the place.

Room too small. We had the sunrise room, my husband and I travelling with my 5 year old, it feels like there’s not enough room to put our stuff.
Beautiful building and architecture. Everything great. Beach club is great we stayed a whole day there. Beach was surprisingly clean, not like what I heard about beach in Seminyak.

Love the hotel the facilities esp the ala carte breakfast all you can eat all staffs are all so friendly and we were upgraded to the suites.. thank you potato head and its right on the beach front where we can walk and swim on the beach see sunset and sunrise and the pool and garden and beach club is also amazing. Potato head studios is a fantastic hotel we have been staying here yearly for many years since it was built and used to stay at katamama 9 years ago , before desa was built , we come back each year as the hotel is wonderful , clean , amazing service , staff fantastic , the location is fantastic on the beach ,now we basically don’t leave hotel much we eat drink relax massage walk on the beach go to gym there’s so much to do at the hotel . Potato head studios is an eco friendly hotel which l love and they work with the community and help the community and work on conservation of Bali , there is so much to do at hotel for a recharge meditation yoga mildfullness , running etc etc . The staff are amazing so helpful and friendly special thanks to Fish who is so amazing she looks after like family every year , Ina , Juni , Arrini , Bhudi all the staff are amazing sorry if l missed names . The food is fantastic something for everyone always delicious and super healthy . We stay in lots of 5 star hotels in Bali this is our favourite , thanks to all special thanks to Ronald and Sandra for gorgeous wine and such a pleaseire to meet them Leah and Brett , australia
