Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PortugalOnly minor items which might not even be an issue for some people: - It takes about 15min to get warm water in the shower/tub - The resort is not that close to Ubud center, so you always have to get transport to get to a restaurant/bar
The hotel met and maybe even exceeded our expectations! First off, the whole staff was outstanding! They all provided a truly 5* service. The room had a very good size and the best of it was the bathroom with both a shower and a bathtub. We also had the opportunity to enjoy the infinity pool with views to the gorgeous jungle. There were plenty options for breakfast and everything was super tasty. We also had the chance to dine during one of the theme nights with traditional balinese dancers. That was well worth it! If you love nature and luxury simultaneously, this is the place to stay. By the way, both the mattress and pillows granted me the best sleep throughout this trip in Indonesia!

United KingdomThe Kayon was the first hotel we stayed at in Bali and wow did it set the standard HIGH! My girlfriend and I loved everything about this hotel, the setting was so beautiful in the jungle and the sound of the waterfall and rainforest at night was relaxing and peaceful. The best part about the stay however, was the people! The staff were amazing and could not have been more helpful or delivered a better service! They anticipated everything and quickly arranged taxis, excursions and added extra touches to every part! The only regret is that this was our first hotel of the trip, and no other hotel compared afterwards (this was by far the best out of the four 5 star hotels we stayed at). 11/10 - highly recommend!

United KingdomThe hairdryer needs replacing as it wasn't hot or powerful enough. The dinner menu could be improved - the starter selection could do with some work and a couple of the dishes we had weren't as good as other stays we experienced in Bali so we were a bit underwhelmed, especially considering breakfast was so good. The location was ideal for us as we wanted a relaxing stay and not to go out much, but for others it may be less ideal. On this note, they do offer private wedding ceremonies and one was being hosted during our stay, so just to say it wasn't fully quiet/relaxing for this period.
The staff were fantastic - so friendly and helpful; Made, the manager on duty, was a standout to us as he helped my husband when I was unwell, going above and beyond for us which we very much appreciated. We stayed in a river suite with private pool and it was gorgeous; flowing waterfall and monkeys in the jungle as our view! The villa itself had brilliant amenities, was so comfortable and very good air con. The shuttle to town was great. Breakfast and afternoon tea were the highlights food wise for us! The spa package I had was incredible and we would happily be back in a heartbeat.

United KingdomNothing. Honestly the place is excellent. There are a lot of bugs, but that is this part of Bali, and certainly nothing the hotel could do about that (they do have mosquito nets in the rooms which are great!).
The hotel is beautiful, the staff are wonderful, and the atmosphere is one of peace and relaxation. Agung is an absolute diamond and he looked after us so well at meals, or around the pool. We had a villa with a pool (saw 20 monkeys in the jungle from the pool one day!), and also had the dinner/movie night that the hotel offers and Gomboh was excellent. I could talk to how excellent loads of the staff were, but honestly, the place is a slice of heaven.

On our experience with The Kayon Resort, we really like the view, the food, and the services of their employee. The magnificent view of their hotel is a must-see, especially the view of the waterfalls while on your romantic dinner or even breakfast. The food is exquisite. We enjoyed their 7 menu dinner and all of them are 10/10. Complements to the chef 👨🍳 🙌 Lastly, the all staff of The Kayon Resort, their Restaurant, and Spa are all friendly and very accommodating. Shout-out to Gungde who accommodated us during our Romantic Dinner, and Agus who was with us during breakfast in front of the waterfalls.

United KingdomThe odd blogger inanely talking to their phone and pretending they are really happy and sorted before sinking back into loneliness and tears but, hey, it's 2024. Fortunately the Kayon has banned drones.
This was the first place we stayed in Bali (we wanted to avoid Seminyak). We were greeted warmly and graciously on arrival. This is a beautiful establishment, small and peaceful with exceptionally friendly staff and beautiful grounds. Food and cocktails were superb. The regular free transfer to/from Ubud was really useful. Our room was very comfortable and clean. Perfect for couples or lone travellers.

CanadaEverything was perfect! We would have loved if they had a refillable water station so we could reduce the water bottles we bought though.
Absolutely stunning property in the jungle, just a 15 minute scooter/drive from the centre of Ubud—far enough to feel completely serene but close enough to explore. One of the most beautiful places we’ve ever stayed. Lovely room, incredible pool, very authentic Balinese charm, amazing staff and service (they all knew our names and room number). Hope I can come back here one day!
