How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The staircase is a bit of a challenge with suitcases.
We had a fabulous time in Cobh. The townhouse was immaculate and the facilities were great. Nice comfortable bed and plenty of room in the kitchen and bathroom areas. The new washer dryer came in very handy. Loved our stay and would definitely stay here again.

I’m getting on a bit so the stairs to apartment 3 were a bit inconvenient especially after a few Guinness but manageable

The thirty steps leading to the apartment which, for obvious reasons, is never mentioned. People who don’t like stairs should look elsewhere. It would also be difficult to drag suitcases up the stairs. We were okay as we were travelling with backpacks. Also, it would be nice to find some milk in the fridge to have a cup of tea on arrival. After travelling for a while and using various properties managed by Booking.com, we have other apartments to compare with. This is more a reflection on the owners and not Booking.com whose staff have generally been excellent.
The location was great, it was spacious & comfortable and had everything we needed.

Lovely apartment. Small but beautiful. It had everything needed for a comfortable stay. Perfect location, right amongst everything, but not noisy. The bed was really comfortable, great pillows and had really nice bedding. The host was really helpful. I didn't see my email, with directions to the property so rang the owner, who was very helpful.

Just personal preference but would ofl8ked a bigger quilt and blind on landing window as I don't like bedroom door closed.
Lovely little flat , perfect location .chocolate was a nice touch and plenty of info in welcome pack.

Found the front door tricky to get into a diffent times. The bed was a little solider than I would be used to

Two flights of steep stairs and flying internationally we had quite big cases. It would have been nice if a small carton of milk was supplied
It was central to everything. Directions were very good an access was easy.

The facility was compact but exactly what we needed. The host was easy to reach on the phone and very helpful when we couldn't figure out how to get the shower to work. The host also gave us a LOT of helpful information before our arrival. Having Netflix available on the TV was also a nice touch.

It’s not the properties fault but there was no street lighting outside the property so it was difficult to see the code keypad and the street and footpath
This property was lovely and clean. So central to the center of Cobh. It was warm and comfortable.

This compact flat is right in the centre of Cobh, and provides basic accommodation, but is not a luxury place. It does the trick, and there is nothing specific that was lacking.

We liked everything,
We were contacted on day of stay giving information on access instructions. The Townhouse was centrally located with all amenities miniutes from our door. If we had any issues we could easily have contacted our host, but there were no problems. . Cleanliness was a 10 out of 10! The place was spotless and modern with all we could of asked for. We stayed for two nights and we slept peacefully on very comfortable beds. We will be back!

No convenient parking available and very steep stairs to climb while carrying luggage.
Townhouse was spacious, and the kitchen facilities were very good. Bed was very comfortable. The location, so close to the water, is fabulous. The communication from the owner on the day regarding security codes was very timely.

Cannot think of anything.
Appartment was very comfortable with all mod cons. It was spotlessly clean on arrival with great check-in details regarding keycode, directions etc. from host on same day. The location could not have been better, minutes walk from shops, restaurants, bars etc. We were in appartment 2, a one bedroom appartment with bathroom which included wifi plus large screen tv. It was very comfortable and quiet. There was great communication from host in the weeks leading up to our stay with regards to places to eat, visit etc. Overall a very enjoyable stay and I would recommend this property to anyone without hessitation. Thank you.
