Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomMy shower in my bathroom could of been a bit better by not having to turn the tap on to get a hot shower.
The location was a good one in Dublin , it was easy to walk into the city centre and very easy to get to the Temple Bar area.

CanadaThe family room with 4 twin beds was cramped. However, I'm thankful that they had this option since many places do not. We were excited to see the live music in the restaurant, but the musician played slower music. We were hoping for something livelier.
The location was great. It was near a bus line and theatres too (if you have time for that). Breakfast was great with a big assortment. The hotel had character with it's windy halls and wood trim. We forgot the plugs for the UK/Ireland and they were available for sale in the lobby (coin machine).

GermanyThere really wasn't anything we didn't like. The hotel was charming; staff was very nice and helpful; the location was great!
The breakfast room choices were awesome. You could chose between an English breakfast or a continental breakfast or both. That was awesome!

AustraliaThere was an issue with the hot water. The staff told us there was a certain way to use the taps which we followed. The first night there was hot water but for the next 2 days there wasn’t. We notified them and the had the handy man check. We think that at peak time the hot water runs out and it doesn’t matter whether the taps are used properly or not. It really matters after a big day of being out and about in Dublin and then coming back to a cold shower.
It had parking for a fee, they are able to accommodate my family if 3.

United KingdomUnfortunately not much sleep at all over 3 nights stay due to exterior noise. The building is old and understand it doesnt have air conditioning like new build hotels. With it warm though and our room above Frederick Street, having to have the window open as room was to hot. Constent traffic noise, Loud people early hours and bin lorries/road sweepers to accompany this. It did feel like you were waking up every hour.
The Hotel is a beautiful one. Previously stayed here for my 30th Birthday, so we booked again for another birthday occasion. Room really great, Inside the hotel is lovely, lovely seating areas and places to relax. Breakfast always spot on, also a meal in the Vaults was superb, with great traditional music. Staff brilliant and friendly.

United KingdomFound the room slightly tired, and fittings were not done at a high specification . for instance, the shower was basic. The room was on the small size, and we were not able to change the heating on the radiators, so it was either really hot or cold. Tea and coffee in the room were not stocked when we arrived and had to ask in reception for supplies. And no iron, which unfortunately we required. A lot of money to stay here and that had more to the location in the city centre rather than the hotel.
Staff were wonderful, the place had a good atmosphere. Enjoyed dinner in the cellar restaurant and entertainment was really good and great fun. The breakfast was good, and the bed was very comfortable. We both had a fantastic break in Dublin.

SwedenThin walls = noisy neighbours. Bring earplugs if sensitive..
Our first time in Dublin/Ireland. The hotel is situated in a central but not a hectic district which we prefered. Further the hotel itself is very beautiful and gives a warm and cozy feeling. The staff members were very friendly and the breakfast was nice (two options - one continental and one full irish option!). I really recommend this accomodation in Dublin! Thank you for a nice stay <3

AustraliaOld buildings so a little confusing to initially find way around the hotel.
Included breakfast was excellent value, other meals were satisfactory. Historical and charming. Easy to get to the hotel by bus from the airport. A good base for Dublin.

United KingdomThis is just a personal opinion..I felt breakfast food was delicious,it was just a bit difficult ordering what we wanted, and not very warm when it arrived, both mornings.
I loved most things about this hotel, location, comfort of rooms, the staff, and especially the style of decor. The hotel is in a great location in Dublin, and Aircoach drops off nearby at Gresham hotel ,then it’s only a short walk up to the hotel,or a taxi is 23euro direct to hotel from airport. I have been coming to Dublin for years ,and would definitely stay here again.

BelgiumAlready third stay at this hotel. I could check in at 5AM during a weekend and switch the day I could have access to the breakfast. That added so much comfort to my stay. The staff members are just great! They are all very competent and reliable. As always the room was very comfortable, clean and the hotel is well located. Certainly not my last stay :)
