How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Was a bit noisy at night - machinery operating and loud walking about from room upstairs.
Location was ideal for accessing the town facilities Breakfast was nice and the room, although basic, was comfortable.

No kettle for making tea or no facility with a dispensing machine, no soap in the bathroom, heating was very sparse or if any,
Breakfast was very nice & well presented, staff were very good & attended to customers, cleared tables & wiped down immediately after service was completed.

Room was too small for a double. booked early thinking I’d get a nice room. apparently b&b tried to contact me as they gave away my room 10 minutes before I arrived! (I had no missed calls so don’t tell me lies) Obviously the other guest got room 9 and accounting to porter they also kicked up about the size of the room! asked for my money back on viewing the room, redirected to a phone number on the door. Got through to a man who said he could help me! MORE LIES, he made absolutely no effort to help me and ignored my phone calls. I was told by night porter that I couldn’t get a refund because I booked online! As I said to the night porter …he was sent to do the dirty work! I am actually more annoyed about the way the issue was handled! would not recommend and will most certainly NEVER stay there again! APPALLING!!! And I advise ye lie down on that bed as that mattress has seen better days!!!

My daughter left her rings on top of the dresser in the room. We rang an hour after we left to ask them to hold onto them and we would collect them. We were told nothing was found. Absolutely disgusting to think someone who works in such a small b&b would rob your jewellery
Didn’t eat the breakfast as the whole property smelt really bad of fried food all day long.

Lovely little property located near Ross Castle. Clean and comfortable rooms, great breakfast, fabulous service. Would definitely stay here again.

Room was very small and very basic, although clean, it was very dated. A shame that there aren't tea and coffee making facilities in the room. The scented candles in the hallways we felt were a fire hazard, especially over night. The room was very hot overnight and noisy when the wi does were open.
Friendly staff greeted us and the location was superb. Bed was very comfortable.

Very outdated, needs modernization....
Room wasn't ready when we arrived , no tea or coffee in the bedroom no kettle , no curtains on the window, woke early , and most importantly no smoke alarms in any of the building ...not worth €90 per night

The girl taking breakfast order and making the breakfast did not wear a mask. Considering restrictions in hospitality at the time very disappointing to see this lack of consideration towards guests staying and eating at the property.

The beds were of poor quality. The room was very tight. The TV was a little bigger than my table and was so high, to see it I would have to stand up and be over 6ft tall.

The perfect spot to spend time in Killarney . Only a stone throw away from the town center and all attractions . Very friendly staff . Spacious rooms with all mod cons . Tasty breakfast . Highly recommended

Small dark room. No tea coffee making facilities in room and door locked where they were available Loud banging and microwave beeping from 7:30. Am
Terrible.. no fresh fruit and when presented with well over cooked poached eggs after a long wait was met with “is there a problem” attitude no apology and same thing thrown up the next am!
