Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandGood location on Ring of Kerry for walking, swimming, fishing and sightseeing. Two small hotels with good food, and a nice pizzeria in close walking distance. Kell's Bay Gardens worth a visit. Recommend a trip around Caragh Lake and Lough Acoose and over the Ballaghisheen Pass to Waterville.

Ireland9.30 am check out! Its is a little early!!!... however we got to check in at 4 pm to Saturday before..
This property was excellent. Our host Kiernan was waiting in the village to hand over the key. Heating, Wi-Fi etc instructions were given and we had no need to contact him until we left. Property had everything we would have in own kitchen. I really can not say enough about this property, it is ideally located in the village, host is excellent, and the property is of a high standard. We will definitely be returning, and I have recommended it to family and friends. In a nut shell.. Layout of the property. The excellent facilities in the kitchen. Loads of mirrors!! Comfortable and clean beds Outside area Access to the village Wifi Too many more things to mention!

United KingdomNothing. Everything was good, and met, or exceeded, our expectations.
Having a view of the sea. Well equipped house and host emailed part way through to ask if more linen was needed. Easy to either do local walks, or drive to interesting places. Very useful to have small supermarket (attached to petrol station) in the village with wide choice of food.

United KingdomNothing really - a 'house manual' with a few instructions e.g. for the water heating etc. would be useful.
Comfortable, clean and well-equipped house close to all the facilities in Glenbeigh. Plenty of parking plus outdoor seating. Surprisingly quiet for being on the main road.

IrelandOn first visit there was nothing to dislike - will be returning repeatedly to confirm this :)
The owners of Earlscourt are so kind, welcoming and considerate. You feel as if you are at home, away from home. The location of Earlscourt in relation to Glenbeigh's restaurants and social areas, is close but not so close that you have any interfering noises at all. The absolute perfect blend. The short distance to the Glenbeigh hotel is a perfect amble for a lovely roast dinner and tipple. Lastly the large gated area for parking was an added touch to feeling safe and secure while relaxing on holiday.

GermanyIt's a bit of a trade-off. Within walking distances of restaurants, pubs and centre of town, so no problem indulging in a pint or two. Set back a bit from the main road. Unfortunately, there is a lot of traffic in August, Glenbeigh is the start of the Ring of Kerry road. So, during high season, high volume of traffic during the day. And the frankly the locals should slow down on these more narrow roads.
Kieran is most helpful and gracious. The layout of the property was far better than anticipated. Extremely well equipt.

IrelandWould have liked a hoover as there was a big rug in the main living area but that was only a small thing. Toilet seat upstairs needs replacing.
Plenty of space and a very comfortable house. Bigger than we expected. Was great to have a dishwasher in the kitchen! Location was fantastic! Very friendly host who kindly left a bottle of wine. We will be back!

United StatesCalling was not working when we arrived. The host didn't pick up the call as so many scams around. Then, I tried booking message, and the host responded immediately. The 2 showers only work in turn. The refilling of the water tank was very loud. On the last two days of our stay, we encountered water shortage in the daytime over 6 hours a day. The washer often stopped working in the middle of a routine, and it had really taken us sometime to get it work through. Some of the cookware were too old to use, for which I would suggest to upgrade to have a better impression.
The host lives around and handed over the key. The gentleman was so nice that walked us to the property instructed us to use the facilities. And, we even got a bottle of wine as a gift. The apartment is actually a townhouse, a small bird with everything. We stayed there for 8 nights, enjoyed the comfort of the house, and toured around every day. The location is perfect just on Ring of Kerry. We could easily get to anywhere in an hour.
