When I sat down on the chair in our friends’ room next door to ours, the chair broke and I was injured. There was only one girl on duty at the check in desk, so she couldn’t leave and check on me or the situation. This was not a good situation. She did eventually give me some ice. I’m still not feeling great a day later.

Unfortunately, the blackout curtains fell exceptionally short...not at all functional ..in 2 weeks, this was the only hotel we had where light poured in

Hotel Selfoss offers a comfortable and cozy stay with friendly staff and clean, well-maintained rooms. Its convenient location makes it a great base for exploring the beautiful surroundings. I would definitely recommend it for anyone visiting the area.

The spa is opened only until 20.00 and you have to pay ca. Euro 20 for each use. Of course you get a towel and bathrobe, however the price per day makes it unattractive for a 1 hour visit. It is clean but there are no staff so the impression is that you are in an empty place… as well it would be great to have more information about the areas (flyers, adds, etc). There are no information at the reception either in the room. A room-service would be a plus, considering that the restaurant closes the kitchen at 20.45-21.00. If you do a long summer tour, being able to eat at 23.00 would be a plus (maybe not a big choice of dishes but soup, sandwich or salad… ). As well, the curtains are cut in 4… so there are always light coming in no matter how you close them. Maybe having just one curtain to close the full window would be helpful… I would prefer to have a darker room than fancy curtains. All in all I would still recommend the hotel for a stay in the area.

Location, parking and how clean was the place. The room are nice, however the corridor needs some fresh up. The spa is small but fine. The breakfast good and location just perfect to visit Island. The staff was friendly but not proactive in offering services or selling the hotel or the place. I had to ask everything.

The bathroom was unexpectedly small with very no shelving space for toiletries.

The location was great for Vik and the Golden Circle with plenty of restaurants, bars and supermarket nearby. The hotel lobby looks great and there’s free parking. Good view of the river and mountain.

The property was well maintained, the in-house restaurant/café was awesome, the breakfast was very good, free parking with the property, the location is to die for next to everything like restaurants, the grocery stores etc and the staff was pretty decent

Nothing to fault!

Perfect location at the end of our golden circle trip en route to Vik. Beautiful lake views and close to local restaurants and supermarket. Great breakfast!

Unfortunately, I think because of our room location (201), it was noisy. We were right next to reception (one floor up), so all the incoming and outgoing activity was disturbing our sleep. In addition, there seems to be some sort of venting scenario where the smells of the restaurant were strong in our room. Not so nice when it was crab seafood -not as bad when it was waffles in the morning. The other thing to note is that there doesn’t seem to be a way of controlling the temperature in the room -and it was warm! No fans… we opened our window. The other issue was the mattress, it was heavily caved in/indented. As I’m pregnant, this was extra uncomfortable. I was also surprised to find that we’d have to pay roughly 30$ each (CDN) to use the pool.

Bed, uncomfortably gets warm, no circulation or cooling. (I just like a fan). We saw lot of the guest opened there windows.

Some items at breakfast were a little dry. Staff are friendly but a bit formula in their responses.

Centrolly located, spaces and clean room with comfortable bed. Breakfast was nice and the view at restaurant is a bonus. Staff at the restaurant is very friendly and accommodating.
