Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomBit of difficulty getting in, didn't realise that we would need to phone to allow someone to unlock the door remotely. Breakfast consists of aselection of plastic wrapped pastries. No proper tea. Let fresh towels after 3 days but didn't bother emptying the bins.
Large room, comfortable bed. Very clean. Mini fridge available is big enough for large bottles. There is plenty of storage space for clothes and cases. Two lots of double glazing blocks out pretty much all noise from outside. Lavazza coffee maker with pods and also a kettle. Bathroom was adequate with plenty of (scratchy) towels. Old fashioned lift was fun. Only a 4 minute walk to Re Di Roma metro station and bus 87 outside the b&b takes you to the centre of it all.

FranceCheck in was done over the phone, but this wasn't made very clear beforehand,, which led to some confusion. Private bathroom but not attached to room, not a problem for us but maybe should be made clear on the details.
Breakfast passable. Location easy to find, short metro ride from station and then a short walk. Pleasant area.

United KingdomWe never saw the hosts, all communication was via text and a call from the husband when we couldn't get in the apartment. It was quite noisy on the 1st night especially. The room is in an apartment divided into three rooms and within a residential block of apartments. Loved the coffee machine but the cups were not replenished! The bathroom is down the hallway.
The bed was super comfy and the coffee machine was a plus.

United KingdomPaid breakfast (artificial, sweet pastries) even though the apartment is advertised as a B&B. The cleanliness could be improved as well. Our sheets had blood stains on them. Moreover, people checking in made a lot of noise, ringing the bell multiple times in the middle of the night because the owner couldn’t sort it out for a good 40 minutes.
Location is quite good. Right next to the metro station which takes you to the city centre within 20 minutes.

Very bad experience. 1. When comming to a B&B I expect to be greeted (that's the whole point of a b&b). Here you have to call the owners and they explain by phone in basic English so it's not such a warm welcome. 2. Elevator is not from the ground floor, keep this in mind if you can't carry your luggage. 3. Room is clean but so old. Small TV, fridge makes a lot of noise. Be aware that this b&b is actually a converted apartment. You hear everything from other guests (when they leave the room, shower, toilet, ..). You will have any feeling of privacy. 4. Towels are too old, grey, damaged. Not comfy, it's like a peeling. They are not changed, only if you pay 10eur. 5. The hot water to shower works for 3-5min, then you have to wait 10min for the boiler to heat up again. So if you need some time to rinse your hair, it's not comfortable. 5. Breakfast is only some packaged cookies and there is a coffemachine but: the coffe-pad from the previous people was still inside for who knowes how long, the water container also didn't seem clean. Don't book breakfast in Italy, just go to a bar and have a good Italian breakfast for 2eur. 6. Bed is the worst that we ever had, it's not stable and if 1 moves, the other wakes up. So not for people who sleep lightly. I called the owners after the first night to express my concerns and the answers were: -That you didn't sleep well is not my problem -Other guests will leave soon and hopefully the next will be more quiet (even though it wasn't the guests fault, there is no isulation) -We are sorry but our b&b comfortable The owners are very arrogant and not willing to listen to their guests. Their b&b is perfect and you should not complain. I should have known from their answers to other comments here on booking. (lesson learned) Conclusion: we booked 4 nights and we left this horror after 1 night. Never ever again and I hope that other people are warned.

RussiaWe rented a room in this hotel, or rather, it turned out to be a room in an apartment! The bathroom is located outside of your "room room". That is, to go to the toilet, you need to get dressed, go through the common corridor through all the rooms!! We were extremely annoyed by this fact, for this money you can rent a decent room in the city center with a bathroom in the room! In addition, there is no sound insulation! Since our "room" was the first one near the front door, you can hear everything! who comes and goes, who walks along the common corridor, it was terrible!!! It feels like you've rented a dorm room! About breakfast, there are no breakfasts! There are some of the cheapest croissants that you can buy at any kiosk, do not overpay for it. I highly do not recommend this "hotel", to be more precise, a hostel!

United KingdomIt was very clean and spacious. The location was excellent. The facilities provided were great, breakfast items in the room and coffee machine, kettle etc. Bathroom was really clean and water pressure was good, the hot water was instant. On the block and the surroundings there was a number of great restaurants. The metro is an incredibly useful line giving you access to the breadth of the city.

Russia-the bathroom is outside the room, you go through the common corridor (there is no info about it in room description!). So there is 3 rooms apartment with 2 separate bathroom. -mold is all around the bathroom -electrical outlet (room 2, on the right side of the bed) has bad contact with sparks. It's not just inconvenient as it doesn't work properly, it is very dangerous for all building. -very noisy! all the doors are very old and creaks. Window as well. The fridge is signing the song (bad one). Also you can hear all your neighbors: dog is walking upstairs, woman is coughing, music. The busy bar downstairs. Some neighbor is making repairs (dddrrrr starts at 9). Noise is everywhere and pretty awful. -coffeemachine in room 1 was too dirty to use it with open eyes. The fridge was dirty with really bad smell. -breakfast with no expectation, just check the pic. - so the last but not least unpleasant communication with the host. During check-in process he mentioned that we stay 2 nights in room 1 and then move to room 2. "Don't worry, we do it all by ourselves, we move all your stuff, you just find the key in the room 2," he said. It was a strange idea, that someone moves all my stuff so we decided to take some rest, stay in b&b till midday and control about moving our stuff. There was no any notice about the time or the process from the host or the man who was cleaning the room. 5 min before 12 I was in the bed, when the host just opened the door to our room with other guest and surprisely said: "you MUST change a room now" and closed the door. I was just in shock about this behavior. Later he back with knocking but not with apology. (Yes, we changed the room in next 20 min).
Bed is very good Elevator is good Location is great - 3 min from metro station, 2 grosseries 2 min, very nice restaurants around Wifi is very good The room is good size, big enough There was a hot water in the shower

United KingdomThe location was acceptable, 4 stops from Termini train station via Metro. The size of a double room was also acceptable, but the shower room with toilet was outside of the bedroom. The shower room was small with black mould on titles which made it dirty and uncomfortable for using. This B&B did not provide real fresh breakfast to travellers, no fresh bread, milk, water and etc; it only provided pocket snacks, e.g biscuits, dried breads and cup cakes. We had only 6 small packages of biscuits (3 pieces each pack), 3 packages of dried breads and 2 cup cakes as breakfasts for two adults for 3 days, this was totally against to its adverts that "it provides breakfast". The owner argued that all B&Bs in Rome only provided this kind of breakfasts (Please check with this point by yourself as we had real fresh breakfasts in all B&Bs in other cities in Italy). The traveller also needed to buy water to fill in a coffee machine for tea and coffee. Please do not forget to ask for a receipt from the owner after paying your city tax. This B&B was in a residential block, other residents may not be friendly to travellers in the block.
