Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsUnfortunately, the restaurant was closed for most of our stay for dinners due to small occupation of rooms on the beginning of the week (place is mostly booked for the weddings/big events). However, the host shared with us reccomendations for great places to have a dinner in the nearby town.
Beautiful place surrounded by wine yeards. Big plus for swimming area. Beautiful garden with plenty of space to walk around or just read a book. Original items/decorations of the building and rooms giving them mystical feeling.

AustraliaSlow restaurant service
Beautiful grounds and pool. As a family group we were given a few rooms together around a common area, it was really thoughtful of the host and worked well for us as a big group to have this extra space to gather immediately infront of our rooms.

SwedenThe reception looks like a bolivian postal office. Sorry. Dress up, clean up, get ONE big desk so it looks professional. Should be as good and clean as the restaurant. We got the room above the restaurant but it was very noisy, probably from the kitchen fridge or fan. The wall vibrated and it did not stop until midnight. We got another room in the same building so ok. But .. of course we could not be the first who complained. The pool was ok but too few sun beds!!! Both times we did not get any. No signs where the shower was. An easy fix ! Restaurant with good service. Overall good but varied during the two occasions. Two chefs? A fox visited the restaurant both in the evening and the morning! Very cute! Shy but stands five metres from the tables.
Countryside after windling road. Like a small village and with a restaurant, wine tasting.

IsraelThe apartment were we stayed was not clean. Zero attention to details. I found dirty cups and plates, dust everywhere and spiderweb. It was cold at night but the extra blankets looked very old and not clean at all. When we arrived I went to buy cleaning products and started cleaning the space.
The outside is amazing. Beautiful, quiet, relaxing. The Chianti area is absolutely gorgeous.

NetherlandsBreakfast is very basic and needs to be improved for the money paid for the room. It's a big disappointment and doesn't match the standards of the hotel and the surroundings. It's quite unbelievable the sparse selection on offer - for example only hard boiled eggs, no scrambled or fried eggs, bacon or sausages, no fresh jams or honey (only prepackaged), no local foods on offer which is common in other tuscan hotels, and coffee from a machine!...someone needs a serious talk with their management. Rooms were smallish for the amount of money paid and didnt represent excellent value for money. The pool is fantastic but there weren't enough loungers or umbrellas so during peak periods we had to take our towels and lie on the grass...
Location among the tuscan vineyards and with the hotel being a converted manor house, the settings were idyllic. Very nice staff and nice restaurant that needs to be prebooked to avoid disappointment.

The apartment has a kitchen with all acessories needed to make a simple meal. It is a very quite and peaceful place.

BelgiumThe food at the restaurant was mediocre, which was such a shame, because the terrace in the middle of the courtyard was really nice. The pool area was a bit small to accommodate so many guests; a couple of parasols would have been nice.
The apartment was part of a beautiful old estate; the interior of the main building had a genuine 19th century feel to it. Wonderful garden. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Great views over the surrounding vineyards and hills. Hiking trail nearby. Possibility to visit the Fattoria di Castelvecchi, which makes delicious Chianti.

SwitzerlandThis place is not maintained and valued the way it deserved. Land around and location itself with all history and tradition shoud be if not 1st, than on top of 5 places to visit in Chianti. I would reshape cellar and change a bit wine production part, it is outdated and needs “a touch”. Catching up with trends would profile it in line with famous Tuscan wineries. Place like this deserves better and well known ristorante, current one is not something people would come to dine. Nothing special just 3-4 primo and 3-4 secodo, traditional Tuscan dishes. This place would get into renessance. I am sentimental about it because there is no much places in Tuscany like this one!!!
Great location if you like history and all about Tuscany. Nice, on top of hill overlooking wineyards and hills.

SpainThere's no bar, restaurant works only under reservation for dinner. If you need water you'll need drive for 10-15minutes to near village. Unfortunately we must share also that breakfast didn't meet our expectations for such an incredible location in Chianti. That was nothing fresh and coffee was not very good.
The location is undoubtedly beautiful and overall we enjoyed our time there.
