Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNo kettle. A bin in the room maybe (there was one at the toilet which was good enough The rest quite good, thanks
I muast say tghat the areas is quite good and lively. I read the other reviews and I was a bit concern. But once you find the place is ok. The area is full of stuents, bars and restaurants. There is probably half an hour to the center so no problem there. The owners try to explain as much as he could. Would be amazing to have a mini kettle to do coffee in the morning but there are plenty of places to get coffee around the area that open quite early. I do thinkg is not cheap but that is Rome so is a decent price. Thanks

AlbaniaThe room was located in a neighborhood which had a very unpleasant smell and you could find beds of homeless people everywhere in the streets as well as beer bottles on the ground. Our room was right by a tram station on the second floor, making it noisy and slightly shaky when trams passed by. You could also hear the neighbors next door.
You could easily access the tram or bus by walking for less than 5 minutes.

United StatesKind of in a busy road. Had to unlock several doors to get in. Not a real reception area and had to make a phone call to get into the front door to check in.
Spacious room with comfortable beds and a nice bathroom! It is near the vernal monumental cemetery which was one of my favorite places in Rome! Restaurants nearby are delicious and cheaper than closer to city center.

CanadaHospital near by so it was noisy at night. It was quite a hike from the train station. There were hotels much closer. On the positive side the room was fresh, modern and spotlessly clean. Marco was very helpful with transportation, and eating spots.

SingaporeThis is not for family with kids. Location feels remote and not if you are tourist. Air condition does not work properly, WIFI does not properly.
Good part is, it is near to Rome Termina station. You can walk, but if want to take a Cab it does not cost much. Price is low and good to stay for one night if you are only 2.

SwedenVery noisy. Street with trams and traffic. Thin doors, all noise from neighbours checking in/out was disturbing. Bed was squeeky. Neighbourhood was a bit worn down.
Room was clean and felt recently renovated. Don't expect a Hotel Reception though the woman at check in was very nice and tried helping. 20min walk to Termini.

GermanyThe view was not good due to the maintenance equipment on a neighbouring roof and floor. Total city tax was not included in price, so it was hidden to me.
Private parking facility with 15 euro per night and the representative was very friendly.

United StatesThis unit was on the third floor, the view was of trash and maintenance equipment on a neighboring roof, there were no bug screens on the windows, NO BLANKETS WERE PROVIDED (representative said they did not have any because 1 sheet was sufficient), only one roll of toilet paper was provided (a request had to be made for another), the bathroom had limited ventilation (no window & hardly effective fan), there was no coffee maker or keurig, there was no complimentary coffee, breakfast services, or water. The free parking was minimal and was in an area with a lot of broken glass. The entire neighborhood was covered with graffiti. This reservation is best suited for two minimalist guests that are not concerned with convenience, ambiance, or amenities; that are confident using public transportation to get to tourist locations/ other destinations; are comfortable climbing four flights of stairs, and comfortable being in a questionable neighborhood.
The A/C unit worked, parking was $4 for eight hours, one real bed was provided, clean linen was provided, a hotel representative was available on site, the shower, toilets, hot water, and lights functioned properly, a small refrigerator was provided, and there were plenty of restaurants in the area.

NetherlandsThere is no lift in the building.
The room was quite good (recently renovated it seems) and so the beds and linens. The air-conditioning is superb as the outside weather was quite hot. The location is quite reachable by public transport. Nearest tram station is 200 meters and bus station is 350 meters. The owner lives far but usually available at the property between 9AM - 1PM. He explained us quite well during check-in how to visit the main attractions by public transport. Tram 19 goes to Vatican museum and Tram 3 goes to Colosseum. Bus 71 / 492 goes to Trevi fountain.

ItalyThe owner was outside our room from 9am doing some finances, but the walls are very thin so you can’t relax. The double bed was two single beds pushed together. I also paid for a triple room but was charged an extra €20 because my partner was staying too when we arrived
