Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThere is no backrest for the bed which is a little bit inconvenient if you'd like to read for a while before sleeping. The room itself is quite, though for consecutive 2-3 days, there were people talking loudly (at least feeling loudly) in the hall way around 5am - I was waked up by that talking, though I didn't really try to open the door to interrupt - my guess is that the people who were talking might be cleaners who just came to start working (not 100% sure).
The location is excellent, very close to the main train station and subway stops for lines A & B. The breakfast is excellent too. The room is relatively small, but good enough for a single person.

AustriaEven though the hotel has 4 stars - it looks quite old and the latest renovation was done quite long ago (at least perceived so). The streets around the hotel are very unsafe due to proximity to Termini.
Reasonably good breakfasts, nice lobby, clean rooms. Very close to Roma Termini train station, thus very comfortable to plan your travel. Very easy walking distance to many of attractions (15-30 mins to most places)

ItalyBreakfast was good except for the coffee machine. We are in Italy, caffè and cappuccino should be made by the staff using professional machines. And the milk in the cappuccino must be fresh.
The hall is spacious and comfortable. Very nice furniture. Welcoming.

United Arab EmiratesThe temperature of the room. It was way too hot and there was no way to switch off the heater or to change the temperature. I had to open the window in the middle of winter but could not sleep as it was too noisy.
The location is convenient as the hotel is near Termini Station. The personnel were friendly and the facilities are good considering other hotels I have patronized in the area.

AustraliaI booked this room as I was travelling for work and it had a desk but there were no useable powerpoints near the desk which made it impossible to do the work that I needed to do. The design of the bath/shower is such that you are constantly hitting your legs on the bath spout in order to have a shower - this was not well thought out. Lastly apparently according to staff it is against the law to have an iron in the rooms which made it not great for people travelling for business. If they don't want irons in individual rooms they could provide a location where you can iron.
Location is good, staff pleasant and breakfast ample. Beds were comfy.

ItalyExpected more from a 4 star hotel. Soap missing in room took hours to get it to my room, asked for sparkling water at breakfast since it was finished on the buffet, but no one ever replaced it. Room lighting very dim, even on the working desk, the shower had a plastic closure and no place to hold shower gel The little things you dont expect fron a 4 star hotel

MalaysiaThe hotel is located close to Roma Termini which was great and convenient. The room was big, very clean, quiet and comfy. The breakfast was excellent with many choices of food to choose from. There are many restaurants, cafes and pubs within the area. The Santa Maria Maggiore Cathedral was just steps away from the hotel. The Colosseum was also reasonably close-by.
