How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The safe didn't work. The air conditioning only blew out hot. There was no fan. We couldn't keep the windows open at night because it was noisy outside. The temperature was 20-25 degrees so we were uncomfortably hot. There was no phone in the room until the last day when, even though we had put the do not disturb sign on the door, someone came in while we were out and moved our stuff to plug in a phone. The minibar only had water in, which cost €1.50. The hand soap was in the shower and the shower gel was by the sink but we couldn't move them. The emergency cord in the shower didn't work.. Considering this was supposed to be a superior room all these issues and the glass chandelier was broken. Two hairdryers did not work. I booked a twin room but this was a quadruple room and cost €900. I think I should have a refund of at least 50%.
The beds were comfortable. The room was clean.

Very comfortable location and amazingly good and fresh breakfast allowing you to relax and think as well as power up for the whole day, very polite and friendly staff. Decor all around matches the Venice vibe, not really new but comfortable, clean and convenient :) Quick and easy check-in and check-out. Thank you!

Expect worse room quality than the picture provided. The bathroom was tiny, and the hairdryer didn't work properly (2-3 sec only). The hotel does not provide an iron station, so either bring your own, or clothes that don't need ironing.
The location is excellent! I would choose this hotel again just for the location. The hotel was extremely central! The breakfast was great, and the rooms were clean.

The room was small but it was ok for one person and 2 days stay. The setup in the bathroom was kind of weird but nothing what was not manageable. The restaurant in the hotel was great. I enjoyed my stay there.

Single room with questionable bathroom. Shower curtain hang over toilet, extremely small and when you shower, rhe whole floor, towels everything got soaked in water. Not nice!!¹¡

I was sorry to hear from the hotel manager that Malibran's day might be numbered as it might soon be sold and renovated. Venice would not be the same without this comfortable, slightly quirky hotel.
Location close to Rialto Bridge is excellent. The hotel is not a luxury one, but it is welcoming and comfortable. We love it. The fish soup served in the restaurant is second to none and a meal in itself.

Friendly and helpful staff.The hotel is in a central part of Venice with a good restaurant but because of adjacent courtyards is not too noisy at night.I was impressed by the cleanliness.The furnishings of the hotel are well worn but the painted Venetian furniture is charming.

The room was extremely small (I had booked a single room in Venice, so I expected it to be small, but it was even smaller than I had anticipated). The shower was just a drain in the floor with a curtain around it, which was a bit difficult to navigate.
Small but very nice hotel in an excellent, easy-to-find location (big plus in Venice!), with very efficient and friendly staff. Breakfast facilities were very good. Also, myself and my friend had dinner in the restaurant on our last night and it couldn't be faulted.

The rooms are really small, bathrooms and shower even smaller. Also the hotel is loud, not much of insulation both internal and external. Breakfast is really poor.
Great location, and really friendly stuff. I had some damp in the room, but they have changed it for the second day and accepted the problem. The hotel is old, but stylish.

Only problem is the hotel looks a little bit old, not sure if it was by design or just lack of maintenance .
The breakfast is good. Bed is comfortable. Stuffs are nice. Location is great.
