Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RomaniaThe location was great. Very close to the old part of the city, close to many bars and shops, but also very quiet. Also, the view from the breakfast terrace was very nice.

ItalyThe hotel was fully booked so we left it too late to book a room with a sea view. We didn't use the spa facilities so can't comment on them. Perhaps next year. The private beach is not directly affiliated with the hotel, so umbrella and bed hire is not included. You can buy your own umbrella for around 10/12 euros from shop round the corner.
The host Elaina was exceptional. Whilst working extremely hard as the hotel was busy and popular, she still managed to make us feel very important and took time to speak with us. She was interested in customer satisfaction and little kind gestures of thought to be helpful. The food in the restaurant was the best we had in Puglia and very good price- excellent chef. The local wine was very pleasant and cheap. This place is about service rather than squeezing money from tourists.

United KingdomThis is not a beach front hotel as advertised. No front or back entrance, you have to walk down and around the street to access the beach. No access to any sunbeds with a discount as previously noted on review. The cheapest beds are €40 for 2 on the back row. They do not have a private beach, it I half public. Breakfast is terrible. Never offered more than 1 coffee, only croissant or mouldy fruit and dry rusks with Nutella. Breakfast items are cheap and plentyful, so why not offer more when there is a kitchen in the hotel. We only stayed for this twice despite it being part of our nightly rate. Our bedroom was with a partial sea view. However, the main view was the bins and rubbish and a dirty building! Our bathroom drains really smelt on the last few days, so much we had to sleep with the balcony door open, and the shower head did not work. We did not report this, however . There were no English staff, appreciate we also can not speak Italian but this made things difficult for all using only our phones even for check in. There was no personality, only facts. The hotel did not feel welcoming at all. All the doors always closed, and never seemed to have anyone in even though it is meant to have a rooftop restaurant?? I feel like we went to very different hotel to the reviews I read before arriving. For over €200 a night, I am honestly appalled. I have never been so disappointed. I would suggest, if you can not speak Italian, this would not be a good choice as the care given is very different to someone Italian, also, very poor offering for the overall cost!
The location as only 50m from the beach

GermanyOwner rude. When you arrive, the owner is more interested in the extras you have to pay than being appreciated for you staying at the hotel. Here is the list of things you pay extra: baby cot, parking, access to the bathtub on the top floor, anything outside of breakfast basics, anything in the freezer and etc. And you are also advised to take care of food in the room because of the ants. Parking is 10 blocks from the hotel and you have to find by yourself, open and close the gate manually. You have a baby and ask help with luggage... "we don't do this service"
The location is perfect with respect to being close to the city center, restaurants and the beach of Porto Cesareo. Less than 5 minutes walking.

ItalyThe room was very tiny and the bed was a squeaking at every move. The breakfast offer was very limited. Even though the hotel is by the sea, it does not have access to the beach. Overall the room rate I found quite high, unlikely I will stay again.
It’s a small boutique hotel with a few unique rooms. The location is by the sea, and it has private parking a few corners away. The receptionist lady was really kind and the check in and out experience was great.
