There was nothing that we didn’t like!

We are a family of 4 with two young children and travelled from Tokyo to Kyoto in late August. We loved staying in 20 Pieces! The 2 bedroom suite was very spacious and comfortable, well equipped and there was a generous selection of high quality items to rent from Reception. It was located opposite a beautiful temple with easy access to Kyoto station via an underground walkway and Family Mart supermarket round the corner. The laundry room was very handy and easy to use for a small fee. Reception staff were also very helpful and welcoming and assisted with restaurant bookings and luggage transfer.

    Beds could be better

The rooms had a really great vibe and were very spacious. Beds a little uncomfortable but so was every other bed I slept in in Japan. Close to train and family mart.

Great room and space for a family! Close to Kyoto’s main station. You can walk with your bags easily. Bit of a hike to the Gino district… about 25min walk.

Really lovely boutique accommodation. Loved the style of the apartment and the separate kitchen and little living area. Would be so nice to use the fire pit in colder weather. Central location

The hotel has no space for a breakfast room but this was not an issue for us since there were a kitchenette and a big dining table in the room. Also, every morning they offer a complementary coffee in the reception.

Cool design, super helpful staff (all spoke fluent English), fabulous view over the giant temple, close to the train station, close to groceries and restaurants. We loved the free renting of the turntable, books and other items.

The hotel was clean and tidy. The room was very spacious, unlike many of the other hotels in Japan. I would have preferred to be slightly closer to Nishiki markets, but it wasn't that far away. I would definitely return and/or recommend to friends and family.

We loved the hotel. The view our windows was beautiful. It’s very neat and clean. The beds were super comfortable. They provide everything. Kitchen was fully equipped. The location was perfect. It’s only 11 minutes walk from the Kyoto station and the bus station is just across the street. Staff was super friendly and they do speak English, they are very helpful. Loved everything about this hotel.

The large main couch was not comfortable (very stiff cushions), but we didn't spend much time in the room except at nights to sleep. Instructions for the AC units would have been helpful, but we did figure them out using google translate.

The hotel was great for a family of four. The beds were comfortable and big. Having a full kitchen was great when we wanted to just cook some light breakfast or snacks. The location is right across from a beautiful temple/shrine and is otherwise in a quiet area. There is a metro station exit only a few blocks away, although it is the last exit on a long underground walk-way (but beats walking in the sun/heat).

I loved the proximity to the Kyoto train station. We were able to easily walk to the hotel with our luggage. Loved all the options of things we could borrow from the front desk and on sight laundry we could utilize. We even had a fire pit in our room! Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Hotel was modern, clean, unique and lovely.

If I had to say, it would be the location? It’s a bit quiet and not well lit at night while walking back. But it’s along on the roadside, so it’s still ok.

Love it!!! I will rebook if I ever return to this place! Very spacious and had a very good time with my family. Very clean and modern looking hotel.

Beautifully spacious room with modern amenities and a few bugs
    • Leisure trip

We got a room on the first floor with the door opening into the hallway leading to the lobby, so that meant there were a few mosquitos and other bugs hanging out inside the room. We used the stove to cook but the fan was weak and we didn't want to open the window wide (no screen) so the room smelled like oil for a while. Although the hotel is pretty modern, there were barely any electrical outlets besides the ones near the beds and kitchen.

The staff at the front desk were really nice and friendly. We didn't rent many items but they had really cool things you could rent. My favorite thing we rented were vinyl for the turntable. The large wall TV in the room also had YouTube which was really nice because we were tired of watching Japanese cable channels. Our room had the best bathroom and the hotel had the best drying machines in our entire trip to Japan. The dryers here can dry a load of clothing in less than an hour while dryers in other hotels take around 2 hours. This hotel is really modern and feels high-end with the POLA shampoo, conditioner, and body wash and the Dyson hair dryer.
