Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe room was tiny, but that was not a surprise. Breakfast was only OK. I booked this hotel because it was one of the few available on short notice and in retrospect not the best value.
The hotel has an excellent location, and the room is equipped with modern features for the road warrior - easy access switches, USB ports,

United KingdomDon't understand the cleaning schedule for the hotel. It says at the start every 3 days the room has to be cleaned however the first two days we had the cleaner in but on the third day we were sorting out our plan for the day but got told to leave so it could be cleaned again when though we didn't want it. Once the cleaner was done, we couldn't tell the difference, we had the same bed sheets and same pyjamas. Plus the room hadn't been cleaned as there was dust over the toilet roll casing. So not too sure why it was so important for the room to be 'cleaned)' on the third day. Water for the room wasn't provided after the first day which was a shame. Also only got provided one room card although not too bothered about this.
Good location only a short walk to the train station. You get to walk past Godzilla peaking over a building and the famous cat billboard on the way to the train station which is a short walk. For the price we found it reasonable and one of the cheapest for the area considering its fairly modern. Easy to get to. Would say the hotel is the equivalent of a Premier Inn (For those in UK) but with smaller rooms. Noise wasn't an issue although very faint music could be heard. All amenities are there on offer although the hotel does not replenish bottles of water each day despite other hotels doing so during our trip.

MalaysiaFor the a hotel chain, there is only 1 lift that served the entire hotel. Imagine when you are at the lower floors and by the time the doors open, the lift is full and you have to wait for the next one. The hotel does remind on the peak times when the lift will be congested but what happens if that lift is not in operation? Do they use the stairs? Why can't I use the stairs? I stayed on the 2nd Floor and I wanted to use the Fire exit down to the 1st Floor. However it is only designated for Emergency Use only and there was a cover for the door knob which requires to be removed before the door can be opened. As I do not know if the alarm would go off for using the Fire exit, I was stuck waiting for the lift.
It's good enough for a night stay as the room is really very small in Tokyo. I like that this place was near to the hustle and bustle of Shinjuku and near to Don Quixote so I did my shopping after all the attraction closes for the night. The breakfast spread is decent however they will start to clear the item by 9.30am.

AustraliaOnly 1 elevator so can be crowded/ long waits. Didn't have the luggage transfer service when I asked about it. Looks to only be the airport luggage transfer, not hotel to hotel.

SingaporeLocation of hotel not for family as its near nightlife, so can be noisy at night. Only 1 elevator so the wait can take quite abit of time.
Hotel is situated near the bars and nightlife. Quite a walk from the JR station, about 15mins. The nearest convenient store is around the corner which is 5mins away. The room is much better than my expectation. Nice and cosy for one person. I think a couple staying should be fine too. Lots of eatery near hotel

United StatesThis was the only hotel in Japan that didn’t give us free bottled water everyday. Also, the breakfast was terrible. We paid extra but after the first day we didn’t even eat breakfast there. In addition, the curry smell from the restaurant filled the lobby which was ok. But we were on the 9th floor and the food smell permeated out room.

AustraliaThere is only one lift so at busy times it can take some time to get down to the reception as the lift fills up quickly.
Staff are friendly and helpful, speaking some English and using Google translate when needed. Location is close to the bustling area of Shinjuku Kabukicho. Only a 7-8 minute walk to the main Shinjuku station where there are many subway lines and bullet trains. You can also catch a bus directly from Haneda airport, which makes it easy when you have luggage. Rooms were small but that was to be expected for Tokyo and it was manageable. Rooms had essential toiletries and were replenished each day.
