Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Anyone who has been to Tokyo many times knows how expensive accommodation is there. The Iyf Ginza has a good price-performance ratio and it is really well located in a quiet side street, but a coffee shop or one or more 7Eleven are just around the corner. The subway station is also just three minutes away and takes you to the most important hubs. Tokyo Station is also a 10-minute walk away. If you want to travel on from Tokyo by train, you can't go wrong with the Gyf Ginza. Yes, the rooms are very small, but they are functionally furnished to the point. You can't put your suitcase down in a large space, but at least I was able to come to terms with that. I stayed there for three nights and would book the hotel again.

South KoreaIf I had to pick one thing, I would say that the fridge is small and therefore a bit inconvenient.
If the view is not important, I would recommend it. It is close to Ginza Station and not too far from Tokyo Station.

GermanyUnfortunately I got a cold in the room from the AC, because the air flow is very strong even on the lowest fan setting, and the air is directed to the bed.
The accommodation is very convenient, bed is comfortable, the location is excellent.

New ZealandRoom was small (as you'd expect) but well laid out and spotlessly clean. The hotel overall had a fun design. Very convenient location with several metro lines just by the hotel. Also walking distance of Tokyo Station, or a quick taxi if you have lots of luggage or kids. Lovely helpful staff.

AustraliaI liked the communal areas in this hotel. Having a gym, laundry, cafe, and co-working space was very helpful. The staff are also super friendly. The room I had was small but workable and well designed. The location was close to transport making it easy to get around.

United StatesA little more space for luggage would have been nice, but I understand this is Tokyo. Overall a great place to stay and we'd definitely come back.
The location was great -- near the Tokyo station and even closer to a metro station making it easy for us to get around Tokyo. The room, while small, had everything we needed -- they made good use of the space. The staff were very helpful.

JapanRoom size is good for Japan, but can feel cramped and the designer wallpaper only makes up for so much. Breakfast on offer is similarly good but not filling. Gym is also the same. There is a room, with a few machines but it's not seriously for exercise (maybe stretching). Which is to say, it is a budget(ish) hotel in a great location that does everything just enough but not much more than that. All that said, the staff are really excellent and the price is good, lifting the hotel above the average in this price range.
great location. Great price. Really great staff and excellent service.

The location of the hotel is fantastic. It is very near to 3 or 4 stations and very convenient to go anywhere. The room is also spacious for 3 of us. We truely enjoyed the stay there. Will definitely come back again.

Lyf Ginza was a welcome oasis in a very busy part of Tokyo. From our initial welcome, we felt comfortable and we could not fault this hotel. The tarriff was very reasonable, even during one of the busiest times of the year. The location was excellent, with trains, metro, convenience stores, cafes and restaurants all within easy walking distance. Staff were helpful and friendly.

Very attentive receptionists helping us with all our questions and doing everything to ensure we had a great stay. Furthermore, the rooms were very comfortable (and quiet: although in the center of Tokyo you do not hear any noise from the outside of the room, ensuring a good night's sleep) and clean - good value for the location and room standards!

ThailandRooms were not huge, but that's to be expected of Tokyo in such a central location.
Rooms were compact but comfortable. All the needed amenities were there. Loved the communal areas - great space to sit and do your own thing, or to have a quick meal. Location was also fantastic, sandwiched between Takaracho and Kyobashi station. Staff were very friendly and helpful as well.

United StatesThe curtains could block out more light.
Staff was friendly and helpful. Hotel appears pretty new so it’s not dated or tired. Fun and modern decor. Whole hotel is non-smoking so no offensive odor. Rooms are big for Japan standards budget friendly hotels. More plugs and charging ports than other rooms we stayed in. Proximity to subway line was awesome! And we noticed Pride flags around the reception desk which made the property feel even more inclusive.

AustraliaThe room could’ve been a little cleaner there was dust along the windowsill and other side of the bed on closer inspection but not bad enough to complain. Just expected perfection from a Japanese hotel to be honest! Everything else beautiful.
Staff were all really friendly, location and amenities and room were superb! We stayed here twice and would stay again easily!

NetherlandsThe minifridge in the room (located in one of the cupboards) got very hot (so hot the top of the cupboard was something like 5 degrees warmer than its surroundings). Inside of the fridge was for sure not cooler than room temperature. I would advise the hotel to look for a different fridge solution as this didn’t feel ok.
Very conveniently located hotel. Small rooms (you might struggle if you have a lot of luggage) but very clean and a nice bed. Very friendly and helpful staff, it was possible to leave our luggage at the hotel before checking in. Had a nice stay.

AustraliaNo full length mirror in the room which might sound silly but it is a con for me, all our other Japan hotels had one no matter how small the room, and we were facing a building that had some construction workers on the top at our level (10th floor) so there was clanging in the morning (not the hotel’s fault but it did wake me up).
Super funky hotel with friendly staff, great location (7 mins walk to Tokyo Station and a minute or so to Kyobashi station as well as others), used the laundry too which was about 600Y and very handy. Stored our luggage for no extra charge not only pre-check in but also between bookings while we went to other cities for a few days travelling light! So grateful for that!

I recently stayed at LYF Ginza Hotel and had an amazing experience. The hotel is stylish and modern, perfectly located in the heart of Ginza. The super friendly staff went above and beyond to ensure a comfortable stay, offering great local recommendations and always ready to assist with a smile. The rooms were immaculate and thoughtfully designed, providing both comfort and functionality, while the common areas were well-maintained and inviting. Overall, LYF Ginza Hotel is highly recommended for anyone visiting Tokyo, and I look forward to staying here again on my next trip!
