Could not think of anything we do not like

The host is very gentle and nice lady who cooked breakfast for us and also recommended us to drive up to Sagiridai as the weather was very good on the day we checked out. We felt very much at home and all of us interacted very well with the host who is just a friend to us. We would definitely go back and stay there and would recommend to anyone wanting to stay in Yufuin. There is a an onsen in the bathroom.

Bed and breakfast run by a lovely lady, who gives reccommendations for things to do and see nearby and in general is very helpful. Feels like staying with family! Breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed the small onsen.

Room could have been cleaned better

The owner kindly picked me up from the station at night, and in the morning she also drove me to the lake. She also made me a breakfast of some fruits and corn soup. I feel that the hospitality was really good.

Nice house and the owner is very kind. It’s quite far from train station but can take a taxi to the house, or if you want to see nice places from the station to the house, recommend to walk, it’s take a time but nice place to see and take a photo. There is a big bath tub that can use 24 hours. In the morning the owner make breakfasts for us too.

The location is a bit of a distance from thr Yufuin station, but it's not as far to walk to the Kinrin lake (less than 20 minutes). So it would be great if you are planning to view the fog in the morning. The landscape and the view during the walk is picturesque too, so it is an enjoyable walk. I'm so lucky that Nita san has offered to drive me around for dinner and drop me off when i check out.

The host, Nita san, is super friendly and kind. She treated me almost like a grandchild of hers and provided the best tips and reminders for travelling around. The breakfast is very delicious. Bathroom is clean, spacious and homey. I got to enjoy the private onsen all by myself. All the decorations in the house is heart warming and lovely! I had a wonderful stay and even made friends with other guests. Highly recommend the place!

The location on google map is wrong! Do NOT trust google map, search 2189-20 yifuincho kawakami instead, it is easy to follow and about 20mins by walk. If you go there by walk, the road is quite dark, shops usually are closed at 5-6pm, better arrive earlier or buy what you need before you arrive.

The host was really nice, served me snacks and tea immediately when I arrived. I dont speak Japanese but the host tried her best explained everything for me. 500 yen for breakfast was delicious. The room is very big for a solo traveler, the bed is so comfy as well. I enjoyed onsen, which was really great and relaxing after a long walk. You may see stars at night from the windows too! You can leave your luggage in front of the door before check in time with no charge.

The host was so hospitable and staying there felt like you were staying in someone’s home rather than a business transaction. We had a lovely home cooked breakfast and the host even took the trouble to pack my daughter’s half finished toast.. And oh yes! The piping hot bath for soaking was another delightful experience for a unique local experience.

There’s quite a hill in the last 3min of walking which is a struggle if you have a heavy suitcase.

I had the most amazing time here!!!! The owner is the sweetest person ever, I arrived around 7pm and she suggested i take a bath while she cooked me dinner. I felt right at home. I had the double room which was so comfy and spacious. It’s very quiet and there’s a beautiful view of the mountains from the room. Everything was so clean. The morning breakfast was amazing and she also accommodated for my dietary restrictions (vegetarian). She drove me to the train station when I left. The place is 20min from the main attractions and its a beautiful walk. I stayed for 2 days and it was perfect to relax from a long trip. Thank you again 🧡🙏🏻

nothing, really : just maybe, think of letting the owner know at one time you plan to arrive (the check in hours are not totally accurate and I had to wait one hour to do the check in)

The owner is really nice. She ready the lunch for me coz I went to mount yufu in the morning and left the bag in the hostel. The environment is so comfy although the location is a bit far from the town, is really pretty when you walk back to the hostel so I’m ok with it.

If you do not have a car, then it will take you about 20 minutes to get there.

The property has 4 rooms (only one has Japanese beds). It was really clean and had more than enough space. And the onsen was really nice and could be locked (just like a bathroom). The washing machine was also very good. When we arrived there was nobody around, so we sent a message via Booking and 10 minutes later our host appeared. She was so nice and offered us green tee with Japanese sweets during the afternoon. She also prepared a fresh breakfast (we appeared one morning at 10.20 and she had prepared a small soupe and sandwiches- so thoughtful!). We can only fully recommend the guesthouse.

My wife, I, and our baby son stayed there for 3 nights. We had a very good time there with our host being superb, very friendly, and very helpful. She even gave us a ride to the train station and helped us in solving an issue at the train station. The breakfast was very good, we had two very comfortable big beds and enough space in our room and in the living room to let our kid crawl. We only can recommend to stay there.

The host was amazing, very calm and kind. She made absolute sure everything was ok when checking me in and checking out. The place was very clean! And the walk there from the station was so beautiful. The owner also dropped me off twice which was so kind and out of her way. The mini onsen was sooo nice!

The host was very nice. We arrived in early evening, kid was tired and did not want to go out for dinner. We were planned to have a take out in nearby restaurant and asked the host to recommend a restaurant. She had a small party with another family staying there and asked us to join them. We had a wonderful homemade dinner, kid enjoyed playing with another family kid. We paid ¥500 each for the dinner which was very good deal. Breakfast was simple but good. The host offered to take us to the train station as well
