It was more expensive than I am used to paying for hostels. In saying that, Kyoto accommodation in this area is outrageously expensive and it was the most affordable I could find. Plus, it was probably the nicest hostel I've ever stayed in.

The location was pretty central and very easy to get from the train station. The Hostel was incredibly clean, the bathrooms had loads of showers and the staff were really helpful. The luggage storage was great to have too. The rooms are small but perfect if you're going to be out for most of the day.

No TV in room and cannot use speakers in room but glad to see everyone complying with this request as well. Matress was a bit thin so you will feel the wood.

Nice hotel in a nice neighbourhood. Very close to the subway station and only a couple of stops away from Kyoto Station. Lots of food options nearby as well. The hotel is essentially a capsule style hotel with similar rules. Shared bathroom and shared showers. No TV in room but it is literally a place to put your belongings in and explore this town. met all my expectations. WIFI is exceptionally fast.

The showers being on a seperate floor were a minor inconvenience I'd also wished the vending machines had small snacks, not just drinks

Perfect size room for a solo traveller. Appreciated having my own space for a reasonable price. It was conveniently located to get most places in the city by metro, walking or bus. Staff were nice and friendly helping me check in and out. Had a really nice stay.

The organization of the hotel. I love the neckllace with the card of the room to go to the toilet and to the showers. Room was small. But we knew it from the pictures.

Only downside: there’s only three breakfast options so if you’re staying for longer than that you’ll have to eat the same things.

Breakfast is served at a Japanese fast food restaurant next door (Don’t confuse Japanese fast food with American fast food - it was really delicious!). The shared bathrooms are clean and it’s a bargain especially if you’re getting a room for four people.

Loved the online information such as if washing machines are being used along with the showers. Can get your own loungewear instead of having to ask someone for a bigger size. Extra/can take slippers as needed.

The breakfast add on is at a small restaurant a few stores down and the three options were good but limited. Wouldn’t suggest adding on breakfast.

The location was great, it's a ~15mins walk from Kyoto main station and a ~7mins walk from Kiyomizu Gojo station. It's also a 20 - 30mins walk from most of the main attractions e.g. Gion area if you enjoy walking this hotel is in a perfect value for money spot. The bathroom amenities were great, I pretty much didn't need to use any of my own toiletries, and they have a QR code for you to check how occupied the bathroom is before deciding to head down for a bath! I stayed alone in a double room so there was more room for luggage but it might be slightly squeezy if you're staying in a single room with more luggage. It's pretty much a hostel with private room rather than a hotel - but i think that is quite clear in the room description itself. The staff were really friendly and went out of their way to help me with calling one of the restaurants. :)

Even though is a hostel with shared bathroom the facilities are so clean and so nice that our stay experience was above our expectations really recommended the change the towels and pijamas and give you all necessary accessories and the breakfast is next restaurant was really nice.

Road outside can get noisy, but that's more on the motor cyclists than the hotel. Keep in mind your showers may be on a different floor than where you are sleeping.

Walking distance from Kyoto station and Gion district. Checking in was pretty simple using the machines there. Room was clean and they provide casual wear and decently sized towels for hotel use.

We picked this hotel as it has laundry facilities but there are only 4 machines & you are lucky if you get to use them, there’s always a line & other guests are hanging around the door waiting for a free machine. We managed to score one but for 2 people it took a very long time to get through a handful of stuff we had each. If they had more machines it would be great. Otherwise very happy with our stay!

Close to a station, close 7/11, McDonald’s & some restaurants. Very easy to pack your mattress up each day so you can use the room space. Good vending machines, luggage storage & the staff were excellent. Locations has a lot of great backstreets to wander, even found a fabric shop which made my day!
