Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ItalyNothing!
It is probably one of the best guesthouses in town! The room was big, clean and comfortable. My room had a double bed, air conditioning and a small table. There was a private bathroom with shower. Downstairs there is a small common space with plastic tables and chair. It is possible to order breakfast and dinner. The portion are big, and the food was very tasty!

ItalyGood guesthouse with king hosts, big rooms with private bathroom, comfortable beds and air conditioning. The staff offers breakfast, lunch and dinner with good food. There is no much common space, but it is enough.

IrelandThis is a nice little guest house in a good location. I walked to the night market, it's about 20 to 30 mins. There is a nice little sitting area cum restaurant in a garden. It is a good place to chill. Rooms are equipped with a fridge, hairdryer, kettle and mugs. No coffee or tea. Hot water in the showers. Staff are friendly. Tina the owner speaks really good English and is really friendly. There is also secure parking for motorbikes.

AustraliaNothing really once you have transportation in the form of a bike or scooter organised (and the staff can help with this) you’re in a great place to explore Pakse and the Bolaven Plateau
If you like the colour pink, this is the place for you. It’s a great place, great service, the food is amazing and the staff and owners are so helpful.

United KingdomBe aware that the guesthouse is not in the centre of town; it's a thirty minute walk along a busy highway. Tuk tuks are available however.
Room was spacious and comfortable with a constant supply of hot water in the bathroom. Tina, the owner, was extremely helpful and invaluable in booking tours and bus tickets. She went beyond the call of duty to assist travellers staying at her guesthouse. A modest breakfast was included in the price and was served on the terrace, a great place to meet fellow travellers and to compare notes. Would definitely recommend this guesthouse for anyone visiting Pakse.

FranceA little far from other restaurants and from the center of Pakse but there is not much to visit anyway.
Tina was a very nice host, she can advice you and book for you every kind of activities and transportation in the region. She also organizes small parties at the guest house to introduce the guests to lao culture and food. The room was very clean, comfortable and bigger than we expected. The terraces of the guesthouse were peaceful and appreciated to relax outside of the room.

CanadaOutside door had gaps in frame, although it locked securely. Fortunately no bugs really at this time of year. Full wet bathroom, but that’s pretty common throughout SE Asia. Room might be considered “dated” by some, but we found it quaint.
Location was off the beaten path so was relatively quiet (except for dogs and roosters sporadically throughout the night). Tina was a lovely host. Limited selection menu was great and the food was delicious. Outside sitting area was very inviting. Room was clean and bed comfortable.

CanadaIt’s a little far from the market and downtown but we did walk it in 30 to 40 min and a Tuk Tuk is easy enough to take so it’s not a problem.
Super clean and comfortable. The bed is a bit hard but that is to be expected in Asia and the owner told me she is working hard to replace mattresses and upgrade all the rooms as money is available. Tina (the owner) is great and goes well above and beyond to take care of her guests. The room was well appointed with small touches like a fun pink area rug, nice towels and a fridge and kettle provided. It should be noted that many of the small hotels and guesthouse have closed due to the COVID Lockdowns and those that have managed to survive are struggling to get back on their feet, many are reopening after closures, needing renovations etc, etc. so we as travellers should be kind and understanding and appreciative of those who have remained open giving us a place to stay as we return to travel.

FranceThink it might have been a little overpriced, but, in all honesty, I don’t have information on other guest-house prices in Paksé, so may be unfair.
For me, staying one night only before travelling on to my final destination the following morning, its location 500 metres only from the KM2 bus station where I had arrived and being easy to find was a distinct plus when night had already fallen. The experienced owner’s useful advice delivered in very good English.

I was in the place to rest and recovery to an illness and it was perfect, private room very comfortable and clean. Breakfast is ok as well. Wifi works quite good. There is a common area and a terrace to chill which is nice. The girl at the reception can help with everything.

The thing I liked the most was the welcoming landlady Tina who went up and beyond to make her guests feel at home and safe. Meanwhile running the whole kitchen and the frontdesk, organizing bus & taxi tickets, taking care of her guest seeing if everyone is ok. I stayed for one night only but it was one of the warmest welcoming place I had been since a long time. Breakfast was very nice also( it may take a little bit longer but keep in mind that she is doing all the preparations and serving) So just sit down and relax ☺️
