Wifi didn’t work in the room, only the balcony.

The view from the room was amazing. Bed and lounge was comfortable. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was brought to the room daily. The location was great, 3-5 min walk to Ella main st.

While the location is excellent in many ways, the walk to town is short but not pleasant as the road has no sidewalk space and is very busy with trucks, buses, motorbikes and tuk tuks so feels very treacherous- this is not something that Country Homes can control, but it is something to keep in mind

The room was a great size, and had a particularly comfortable sofa, which is a rarity, but so appreciated in a hotel room- good to have a comfortable place to sit. The view is good - of Ella Rock, but with a little extra tree pruning, it could be a phenomenal view through Ella gap and including little Adam’s peak Breakfast is delivered to your room at whatever time you request

Nothing we didn’t like.

This was the best accomodation we have stayed at in Sri Lanka. Rooms were so comfortable and spacious. The view was incredible! We could have happily spent all day there! Darshana was exceptional host, (the best again we have experienced in Sri Lanka). Nothing was an issue. When you arrive you have some steep steps to get to your rooms but then Darshana brings everything to your room via what’s app messages. Your fantastic breakfasts even get delivered to your rooms. Highly recommend this accomodation!

There are a lot of insects because of the nature there , be prepared for that , the entrance if the hotel is a bit difficult, try to use the alternative entrance once you arrive , ask for the shortcut way , rooms are a-bit small but also because of the huge armchair in it

The view is amazing , the rooms are nice , breakfast was good , and the owner and staff are very nice , prepare yourself to feed some monkeys

It was not the easiest place to find. Blink and you'll miss the entrance. That is my only negative but it's not exactly something they can change easily. Ella is a small strip of businesses and so everything is tightly packed together. Just something to be aware of for travellers! And maybe a bigger sign is needed

Great place to relax and recharge. The room was fantastic and exactly as shown in photos. We felt safe and the communication with the staff was speedy. The working boys helped us with our bags and settling in and were helpful with the breakfast and in showing us around. We met the owner when we signed out and she was kind.

- Signage for the property could be improved as we initially drove past it and couldn’t find it. - There is a 3.5% surcharge for paying by credit card (we was more than happy to pay this but just commenting as a warning to other travellers). - Lots of steps to get up to the room, which might problematic for older travellers, those with young children or dodgy knees.

- Cool cabin / chalet style room with lovely views of Ella! - 450m walk to Ella town - which is great if you wanted close proximity to restaurants etc. - The family who live on the property were extremely kind and helpful and gave some great tips for Ella. - Good space for parking.

We had a couple of unexpected visitors in terms of bugs BUT it’s in the jungle so can be expected. we told the staff and they sorted it immediately for us :)

Really beautiful place to stay, the location was really good, just an easy 12 min walk into Ella. It’s a family ran business from Grandmother to Grandsons which is really nice and they look after you! The breakfast was delicious.
