The WiFi connection was really slow and often didn’t work. The place isolated which is nice and peaceful but also means you don’t have independence to go out and explore without the hotel arranging it for quite expensive prices! But it’s a beautiful retreat place with incredible food!

Everything. Clean room with hot shower. Good air conditioning. Great pool with loungers. Breakfast was enormous and very tasty. We also had dinner which was one of the best curries we have had in Sri Lanka and was a reasonable price.

A quiet spot at the end of the lane, makes this place feel remote, yet really handy for town centre. It’s no-frills accommodation but the guys keep the place really clean, smart pool and peaceful setting, whilst the service is really friendly. You can dine in ( they also own the local Rice and Curry place which is top-rated), so the food is brought from there, it’s good! And breakfast is off the scale - huge, even by Sri Lankan standards. This was a last minute booking for us, and probably one of the cheapest places we stayed in our month long trip, but quite honestly, it punches above its weight in comparison. Worth a punt if you’re looking for a night or two if you’re using Habarana as a base ( the town on the other hand is a total waste of time).

After a few days our bathroom did become a bit stinky, so that would be the downside to note in an otherwise great few days.

We really enjoyed our stay here. All the staff were polite, friendly and tried to help whenever possible. Location-wise it's great for exploring the likes of Sigiriya and Dambulla which are an easy tuk-tuk ride away + some of the restaurants in Habarana are really gems too and only a 10 minute (max) walk away - Mom's Kitchen would be our recommendation. The swimming pool is nice and all communal areas are nice and clean. Breakfast was HUGE and tasty, and we ate dinner one night too which was also home-cooked and tasty. Also, this is a pretty rural location, so some sort of bug spray for evenings to avoid getting bitten would be worth bringing along.

I really recommend this place. The pool is great, it feels like a jungle. Breakfasts were better that you can imagine, true Sri Lankan cuisine. However, the best aspect are people working here who are very helpful, nice and smile at you all the time

Lovely stay in the jungle! We had a warm welcome at Bangalawa Resort. They arranged all the excursions we wanted to do within some minutes. We stayed one complete day chilling at their pool! Nice location not far from the lake and the elephant park! We had a nice dinner and the breakfasts offered every moring were the best we have haddd ! Thank you so much!

I feel like I had good value for money so no complaints. There are lots of mozzies and other insects, but this is to be expected in a jungle. Upali put up a mosquito net and the aircon worked very well. The bathroom could do with some practical touches but everything worked well.

The owner was extremely welcoming and helpful. Such a lovely family. You can tell there is a lot of love and joy in their home. On arrival he made me a delicious cup of ginger tea. The breakfasts were fantastic with a wide selection and we could even put in requests. On the last night, we requested dinner and they cooked an incredible fish curry made from Tilapia we bought from a local fisherman in the street. The room is very comfortable and we had everything we were promised and more. They even did my laundry at no charge. My bed was great! Cooling off at the pool after Polonnaruwa was a real pleasure. The pool and the gardens are beautiful and you feel real relaxed. The elephant safari was a few minutes away and Polonnaruwa was a mere 30 min drive.

😍Located next to the city, this is a little paradise. There is also a very quiet and beautiful garden. Very close to ATM. The most beautiful swimming pool. The owner and staff here are very friendly and helpful. All travel and destinations were prepared. It was very convenient for me. The room and bed are amazing. He helped arrange wonderful things like a village ride and ayurvedic massage at a reasonable price which is a never before experienced experience. They also provided their vehicle at a very low price compared to other places. It was a great comfort to me. Very delicious Sri Lankan style dinner and breakfast. It was very special to me. Explained everything to me and helped me to save my money and safety. 1000% security and value for money. It is possible to prepare anything needed. I can't forget this place. I'll be back. Visit Sri Lanka. They provide special care for foreigners. Thank you to everyone at Bungalow Resort.🙏

The swimming pool could be cleaner and there are no laybeds. WiFi works mostly only outside.

The owner and the staff were very kind, managed all trips and took us to next destination. They prepared very tasty meal and drink when we wanted. They washed our clothes for free.

A "free place" surrounded by beautiful trees. The people there were very kind😍. He also helped us a lot by organizing a safari or an Ayurvedic spa. it's great. They prepared their own vehicle for us at a very reasonable price😊. It was a great convenience for us. A lot of things were prepared without expecting money. Delicious clean food was made for us by his wife. so Many item were prepared for breakfast😋. I can recommend this place 100%. this place became an unforgettable place.
