I stayed there only for two weeks but I really liked it. The accommodation is in a good location in Weligama. Beach not far away and restaurants around the corner. To the hosts: I received a very warm welcome and was able to contact them at any time, even with concerns unrelated to the accommodation. I felt very comfortable!

I loved this guesthouse, the family were so welcoming, so kind and lovely. The room itself is so big, well equipped! The location is perfect, right beside the beach and the town. The house itself is beautiful and has a big garden. I would really recommend this guesthouse

Our room smelled strongly of damp and didn’t feel super private.

Sweet place run by a lovely family who welcomed us with delicious ginger tea and were generally just very kind. Good location next to some great cafes and surf spots.

It was amazing to stay here, the host family are so nice and kind! They offered tea and Sri Lankan food. I really recommend this place!

Would highly recommend Mango Shade. The family looked after me and welcomed me as if I was part of the family. Amazing home cooked Sri Lankan meals. Very close to the beach. I extended my stay multiple times and will definitely return someday!

The position right next to the beach so we could walk from the surf school in a couple of minutes, the room was big and clean and there was a huge balcony shared with the other 1st floor room. The staff was really nice: they prepared a welcome tea as we arrived and purchased a kettle so we could make coffee in the morning. They also provided an addictional string in the balcony so we could try to dry our clothes. The bed was big and comfortable. I definitely recommend Mango Shade and would love to be back one day.

Very nice room right in the best spot in Weligama. Friendly owner, and great room, clean, nice bed, all the space you need to relax by yourself. I definitely recommend this place if you've enough of going around from hostel to hostel!

We had the room downstairs situated next to a main extremely busy road and with all the crazy bus drivers it's almost impossible to fall a sleep. Noise for the whole night. If you can, try to choose different room.

The location of this home stay is top. Five minutes walking to the Weligama beach, lots of cafe's, restaurants and local minimarkets nearby. The owners are so nice and kind, almost every day they offered us tea and small conversation. I felt almost like at my grandparent's house. On the garden they plant Papayas and Mango trees, btw they harvested one for us and it was so sweet. They even prepared for us a breakfast for free one morning.

Rooms are fairly bare but clean which makes the stay overall comfortable.

We enjoyed our stay in this family guest house mainly because hosts were super nice and friendly, location was very comfortable just 100 m away from the beach and spacious room made it fairly pleasant. Hosts did also arrange a dinner which was very tasty.

Amazing and really friendly family running the homestay. The rooms are big and clean. Upstairs you can enjoy a terrace. Good WiFi. They prepare tasty Sri Lankan breakfast.

It is a little grubby, and there are many bugs. the mosquito nets are nice, but there were a few holes in them. All in all, it is a decent stay when you just need somewhere to crash for the night in Weligama.

It was simple and convenient. Very close to Weligama beach at a great price. the couple who run the guesthouse were very nice and even let us hold our bags there before we left for Unawatuna late in the day.

the room has a great level of humidity, you cannot open the curtains - everyone is walking in the garden

On a really noisy road and there’s gaps above the windows and walls so the noise in the room is as loud as it is outside.

Great location close to the beach and lots of cafes and restaurants. Good value.
