My friend and I arrived at Royal Rock Sigiriya in the evening, and the location was a breeze to find on Google Maps. The roads leading up to the hotel were in great condition, which made the journey hassle-free. The setting of the hotel is genuinely breathtaking, especially our room on the 1st floor which offered a direct view of the majestic Sigiri Rock. Despite the rain, or perhaps because of it, the atmosphere was enchantingly beautiful. In the evening, we took a dip in the pool which was illuminated with captivating colored lights. Dinner was delightful, and we had a comfortable night’s sleep. Come morning, we were greeted by a friendly dog named Rocky – a lovely surprise. Breakfast was a delicious spread of Western dishes that set the right tone for the day. In summary, Royal Rock Sigiriya is a splendid place to stay. Between the scenic views, the warm staff, and the pleasant surprises along the way, our experience was nothing short of wonderful. Highly recommended!

Chicken dishes on the restaurant came with bones. May be common in Sri Lanka, I don’t know.

Great location on a rice paddy from where you can see the Lion Rock. Comfortable room, nice pool and friendly staff. They really make an effort to please the guests.

Wi fi was slow or difficult to connect due to short range. However mobile data signal was strong so that is always there as an option.

Was literally 10 minutes away from sigiriya. Staff were exceptionally hospitable. Food was amazing and well priced. Rooms were clean.

Beautiful, clean and welcoming hotel close to all the main attractions. The owner went above and beyond to make our stay amazing, arranging Tuk tuks for sunrise and sun set walks and then providing dinner in the lovely restaurant. The pool is a great addition for after the hikes. Roxy the dog is a great addition, providing loads of cuddles and love during the stay. We absolutely adored our stay here and would highly recommend to anyone staying in Sigirya!

Sujee was very nice and help us with everything, even arranged the safari with a great driver. The room was super clean and comfortable. Swimming pool with views to sigirya and highly recommended breakfast and dinner. Highly recommended accommodation to enjoy the time in sigiriya.

We had the most wonderful stay at Royal Rock! The staff were amazing, all of them! During our stay we experienced the best service, everyone went out of their way to be helpful and make us feel at home. The warmth and easy going friendly manner of all the staff made it a pleasure to stay here and I would recommend it anyone travelling to Sigiriya. Sujee the manager was really helpful and offered lots of advice about travelling around the area. He organised a tuk tuk for us to to get to and from the bus to Polonnurwa for a day trip and when we needed to leave, arranged for us to get a tuk tuk to Dambulla which waited with our luggage so we could see the Cave Temple then helped us find the bus stop to get to Jaffna. Sujee even woke up early to make sure the gate was unlocked for us to leave at 4am for our safari. All such thoughtful assistance and very well priced. All of this was offered sincerely and we were never left feeling any pressure. We also ate at the restaurant for two nights and it was delicious!!! So well priced and wonderful food - some of the tastiest curries and chilli paste we are in our trip. The chef proudly came and explained the different local dishes and how they were made and the ingredients were all fresh and grown on site. We can't recommend it enough!

Nothing not to like. Everything was great best accomodation experience in Sri Lanka

Sujee the manager was a bonus in staying here, went out of his way to make our stay exceptional. Arranging for the on-site tuk tuk to take us at 5 am to see the sunrise on the rock, happy to arrange safaris and taxis. Great pool to relax in after your walk up the rock, the rock is so close we walked from the accommodation and back afterwards. Great breakfast and dinner, happy to serve drinks by the pool . Close to other excellent places to eat, few minutes walk up the road. If you stay anywhere else in Sigiriya you will be missing out!

Close to attractions. Can rent a bicycle and ride 5minutes to restaurants or 10 minutes to Sigiriya Rock site. Lovely and tasty dinner and breakfast, friendly and helpful hosts, beautiful views of the tea fields and Sigiriya Rock! We chose the balcony room which shows these views. Wi-Fi is fast and reliable. Rooms are clean and comfortable! Relax by the pool after a busy day. Would highly recommend this place to anyone who visits Sigiriya!

They advertised a bar, but there isn't a bar, although they do sell beer.

The location was lovely with a view of the Sigiriya Rock fortress . The owner was very helpful and gave us a tip to go up the rock next to the famous fortress called Pidurangala rock. This was amazing and I would highly recommend doing this as its only 1000rps each vs 30 US dollars for the fortress. You can see a fantastic view of the fortress from Pidurangala. The room itself was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was tasty, especially the turmeric pancakes with coconut and honey.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were super friendly and even escorted us to some local restaurants. The facilities were clean and well maintained. The location is perfect if you’re planning to hike Sigiriya rock. The hotel has a great view of the rock and is only a short drive away. Will definitely be returning!

There was a small fridge in the bedroom but it smelled, so we didn’t use it. Some bugs in the room but you can always get this while out in the nature.

Friendly staff, very nice view to the Royal Rock. Rooms are simple but comfortable and the AC helps to keep it cool. The pool was very refreshing after a hot hiking day. Awesome breakfast, the mood is very calm and familiar, when we were having breakfast in the early morning, after having climbed to Pidurangala in one day and Sigiryia in the day after.
