Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SingaporeThe hair dryer was very weak and barely dried my hair. Coupled with the high humidity of the area, we woke up with damp hair. My room had no shower curtain so there were wet floors - however, a pair of slippers were provided for use in the toilet. The room had a double and single bed - however, the single bed did not have a blanket and the pillow was without its cover. Pillow issue easily resolved by swapping with the ones on the double bed. Blanket was promptly provided once requested. Due to the location of my room, loud road noise can be heard at night. Loads of mosquitoes in cafeteria, especially at night.
Very near starting point for Sri Pada/ Adam's Peak hike. Warm, sincere, friendly and very helpful owners (Ruwan and wife) who ensured we arrived safely by waiting for us until 1030pm and contacting us in advance. Ruwan brought us to see a beautiful waterfall within a tea estate via tuk tuk (for a fee) - the scenery and fresh air ticked all the boxes. Ruwan also provided us with tips regarding viewing of the passing train at the 9 Arch Bridge at Ella (train passes around 1230-1245 as of May 2024). Had 3 meals there and everything was made from scratch, mostly yummy - do order the food in advance to avoid a long waiting time. The view from the room and cafeteria of the forest foliage was very calming and pretty. Soft and fluffy blanket. There were side tables and electrical points next to every bedside, which was convenient. Mosquito nets cover every opening to the room so there was no worry about being bitten inside. Even the gap of the door was plugged. Cooling weather, did not have a/c or fan but no issues falling asleep.

We stayed in the cabin, it was private and comfortable away from the street and with beautiful views - the monkeys came to visit the balcony! The home cooked food is delicious, on the second night we ventured down the street for dinner but wished we had stayed at waterside.

Ryan was a fantastic host, he made sure we had everything we needed and took us on a beautiful waterfall excursion. His wife cooks great food also! And the setting is magical, on a hill away from the road overlooking a stream, so you can listen to the noises of the jungle at night and wake up to a beautiful sunrise view.

United KingdomNot the fault of the owner, but somewhere nearby was playing loud party music at night. I don't know if this was maybe because it was Poya? I put in ear plugs and it was fine.
Really close to the start of the Adam's Peak trail. We were lucky and got put in a brand new cabin room as the room we booked had a problem. The cabin room was lovely! Strongly recommend. The restaurant on site makes delicious food. The view is wonderful, and the sound of the river is very relaxing. The guy who runs the place is super helpful. Thank you!

United KingdomEverything was great :)
We stayed for 2 nights pre and post hike up Adams Peak. Our hosts were very kind and welcoming. The food was delicious, some of the best I’ve had in Sri Lanka so far.. we ate every meal in their restaurant during our stay (I’m still thinking about the dhal)! The room was comfortable, clean and shared the same breathtaking views as the restaurant. Rowun was very knowledgable and shared lots of information about the hike and our onward trip to Ella, he drove us safely to Hatton train station from the accommodation. I would suggest travelling to and from the accommodation with a driver who knows how to navigate the winding, uneven roads! Thank you so much for our wonderful stay, this place is perfect for anyone climbing Adams peak.

AustraliaIf you're looking for a place to stay while visiting Adams Peak, this is it! My partner and I stayed here for 2 nights, and it was by far the best place we've stayed in Sri Lanka. Friendly owners who make delicious food, a lovely room, and only a few hundred metres away from the start of the hike. We enjoyed breakfast, lunch and dinner here everyday (as it was incredible) and the owner even took us to Hatton Station and made sure we got safely to Ella. Highly recommend for anyone hiking Adams Peak - it's perfect 🙏

GermanyWhat a great experience, the room was spacious, super clean and very cozy. I also really liked the hot shower and finally someone that included a wiper with a rubber lip to dry the floor over taking a shower. We also had a nice view on Adam’s peak from our room and balcony. We really couldn’t have asked for a better accommodation to spend 3 nights and do our hike up Adam’s Peak which is in walkable distance. On the other day we rent a scooter organized by the owner. Last but not least the food is just excellent and you have to try their Dhal! Thank you for hosting us and we would come back anytime!

FinlandIf you are going to stay 1 or 2 nights and climb Adam’s Peak, I think you should pick a good host rather than just a good place. Ruwan provided very useful tips for us and answered all our questions. Most importantly the tuktuk drive felt so safe both from and to the train station. He even made a quick change when we decided to catch the earlier train and he was ready to drive us there right away🙌🏽 Strongly recommended ✌🏼
