Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Anita and Giancarlo could not have been better hosts. The room was very well appointed with a fabulous veranda outside with incredible views over Victoria. The Breakfast was exceptional, with Giancarlo's homemade Croissants daily! They also provided towels for the lovely pool and if you needed to borrow any snorkels or flippers they were also available. Nothing was too much hassle for them and they really were exceptionally kind and generous hosts. I will definitely be returning and could not recommend L'Ghorfa more.

United KingdomNothing. Only spoiled by some other guests who were very demanding and found lots to complain about. Shameful that they gave a score of 1, after all the effort Anita and Giancarlo made for them. Fortunately there were also some other lovely guests during our 9-night stay.
A great beautiful home with a warm welcome from Anita and Giancarlo. A comfortable spacious room with fabulous views across to Victoria. Enjoyed using the pool every day and walking into the square for the bars and restaurants. It was great to be back!

AustraliaAnita & Giancarlo are excellent hosts, very friendly and generous. We were very comfortable in our terrace room and made good use of the pool every day. Continental breakfast is tasty and plentiful. It's an easy 12 minute walk into the main square, which has plenty of bars and restaurants, making Xaghra an excellent location to base yourself.

United KingdomWe recently had a fantastic 7 night stay at Ghorfa. Giancarlo and Anita are excellent hosts and immediately made us feel at home. The property is beautiful and the rooms modern and well equipped. The pool is large, warm and well maintained. Breakfast was consistently a highlight with homemade croissants and quality coffee; we also opted for a fish dinner one evening which tasted incredible. With Xaghra being in the centre of Gozo, it’s well situated to explore the island and is in walking distance of several highly rated restaurants. Highly recommended!

IrelandEverything was great.
Great location, walking distance to most things in Xaghra. Although I would recommend hiring a car. The house is so lovely and quiet. Even with the other quests. Which was exactly what we wanted. Anita and Giancarlo were fabulous hosts. Very helpful, very kind and very flexible. The breakfast with homemade croissants was always consistent, on time and delicious! And endless espressos!

Amazing breakfast, super clean property, great location and the best thing is the wonderful hosts Anita and Giancarlo who do everything possible to make you feel welcome and comfortable! We truly felt part of the family and couldn’t have asked for more! We went in April and had beautiful sunny weather and the island was nice and quiet meaning we had a lot of lovely beaches to ourselves. Definitely an excellent location for some spring warmth!

United KingdomCan't fault our stay.
We spent 5 nights in Gozo before heading to Malta for 6 nights. In Gozo, our hosts Anita and Giancarlo were amazing! They ensured we felt welcome giving recommendations of places to visit, lending us snorkels and umbrellas for the beach, dinner recommendations and places to find live music. The B&B has a lovely farmhouse feel and with only 3 guest rooms, it was wonderfully quiet and tranquil. Our room was comfortable and cleaned daily with a fantastic view from the balcony. We enjoyed swimming in the pool, which is bigger and deeper than it looks from the pictures and the outdoor space is a real suntrap for some sunbathing! Anita provided beach towels for us to use by the pool. We were also able to use the fridge to keep our water cold, which was needed in July/August! We have to mention Giancarlo's freshly baked croissant's, which were delicious! We had one every morning for breakfast, which were 10/10! We would definitely recommend hiring a car for your time here - whilst there are a few restaurants and bars in Xaghra just a short distance from the B&B - it's really nice to go and visit other places in Gozo, especially if you want to swim in some more secluded bays and beaches. It never took more that 20mins to get from A to B and parking was always easy to find. We used the bus system on Malta's main island and found it unreliable and it is supposedly better than the bus system on Gozo! We definitely had wished we had extended our car rental for Malta too. Gozo was the highlight of our holiday!

ItalyAnita and Giancarlo, with passion and kindness, created the perfect place for staying in Gozo. The Ghorfa is an amazing accommodation, a positive vibes charming house completed by a refreshing swimming pool and some terraces with a fantastic view. The hosts make you feel at home any single moment, and breakfast is probably the best in town (10 points just for the homemade croissants!). We enjoyed also a couple of dinners with Anita and Giancarlo, which are the real added value of this corner of peace in Gozo!
